I´ve been lurking for so long, it feels like I´ve been writing to me.

Hello folks!

I´m just a guy from the north, namely (the police state of) Finland, who has been finding a great deal of useful info on these forums for a number of years. Haven´t really felt like I had anything to add to all the talk about growing, so have only been lurking around.

I think I might have a cent or two to share in the coming years, so what the heck: better just dip a toe in the hot tub of info regarding our beloved medicine.

Don´t really know what to tell about myself... Maybe not too much?

Hi, and thanks!

Actually, it´s quite bizarre. No snow at all, and about 5 degrees above zero (celcius). Really depressing, since there´s just a few hours of light every day and the lack of snow makes it even darker! The temps suit me though...

yeh 5's pretty reasonable for there im sure, we're getting that here in UK. And I seriously know what you mean about the dark. I actually empathised with you guys when I realised how depressed I was getting lol. noticed it more when i'd had a lie-in and had managed to inadvertently miss half the days sun :p you guys must contemplate those SAD lights out there I know I am :p

It´s not uncommon for people to go to work/school or whatever when it´s still dark and get out of there when it´s already dark. Those days were absolutelly deadly. But each and every summer I still mage to forget how long the winter really is.

I feel so lucky I found a great cure for the darkness. :weed:

Hi, and thanks for the reply!

Where I am from, up north, the Aurora Borealis are a relatively frequent phenomena, appearing on more than 200 nights in Finnish Lapland. Where I live now, the Northern Lights are more of a glimpse than a light show. Speaking of pictures from Finland, here´s a photo that was on the NASA "astronomy picture of the day" -site a few days back, by German born, Finlandized photographer Thomas Kast:

These are something called "light pillars" that appear on certain humidity and lighting conditions. Looks like a UFO landing or something!
