I wanna grow a big one!

This is my JTR momma:

She was kept in a 3 gallon pot until just recently... She was drooping a little and had gotten to the point that she was completely rootbound.

When I went to the local grow shop I saw some huge pots and couldn't resist... :blsmoke:

So it has began. I put her into a #10 size pot (doesn't even say how many gallons/litres on the bottom and google didn't yeild me any results but this pot is at least a 7 gal pot, like 14-16" tall and 24-28"-ish diameter... anyone who recognizes the size should help me out cuz IDK WTF IT IS LOL). She is under a 400w MH atm for veg and I'm using FFoF soil and FF soil 3-pack of nutrients(I am interested in the soluble 3-pack as well, is it worth it?).

I've got a month before my 3rd grow (12x 3 gal pots, mostly JTR under 1000w HPS) is harvested and out of my flowering room so I'll be vegging for at least that much longer.. maybe even longer depending on if she is as big as I'd like.

I have already topped her and as you can see she has 4 dom branches... I'm going for a pretty wide (AND SHORT) bush so I topped a couple of those as well and am LST'ing everything outward... Hopefully I'll have a 3x3 or so canopy (as big as I can really go with a 400w anyway imo) before I put her into flower under the 1000w.

Now, I am here because I have never grown a plant as big as what I hope this one to be and am looking for a little guidance... is my pot big enough? Anyone with a ton of monster experience have a pointer or two (I actually hit up MBlazes thread before creating this one... huge plants.. he uses 15gal pots though idk if I wanna get that HUGE lol)? Too much light for a single plant? not enough? Would a one plant SCROG be optimal? What kind of (ballpark) yeilds should I expect? If this plant goes well I will probably end up switching to a less-is-more approach and go 3, 6 or 9 bigger plants instead of 12 small(er) ones at a time.

I'll be updating this with progress most likely, I'm pretty stoked to grow a plant so big I cant move it

for me it just takes too long in veg to grow monsters. i like pertual harvests. I don't do small plants either, but under a 1k air cooled, I've done 18,16,12,10 and 6. Personally i prefer 12 girls to a light, but to each his own. 12 though and i am not too crowded and i have all the time in the world to clone and get new ones ready to go on the tables. When i did the 6 under 1k i got like a pound of weed well dryed, so it was fairly productive, and i got so many donkey dick sized colas, that was impressive too, but my best yields have been at 16, and 12 plants. I've never tackled a full blown sativa indoors though, Jack Herer, and WMD are about as leggy and sativa-like as i have grown. Thats what my expierience has been anyway. Seems like the number of plants means NOTHING!!! It's the size of the canopy, period. i just can make a dense canopy faster by vegging small little bitches. i think you're going to find that to be the case man. i also think that with the bad penetration of HIDs indoors, the smaller plants are easier to maintain the bulk of the canopy the same general distance from the light. I'm no expert though by any means. Just my take on small vs. large

Yeah I'm working towards a bi-monthly perpetual harvest schedule w/ 12 at a time (actually have some clones rooting and seeds close to sprout atm as well) which is what I've done for my current grow and my last grow and had good results (1lb, 1 1/4lb) and yeah I'm really just going for monster buds and whatnot...

I had originally planned to do a monster outdoors but then moved into a very busy area with like 3527234 places one could see into my backyard ...

So when my plant was showing stress it just felt right to try and make a monster .

One of my main questions I guess with this kind of grow is what kind of results have people gotten with 7gal pots? Mblaze said he uses 15gal pots for his monsters and I know lots of people use the 7s and 10s.

One thing I know for sure is that my plant is def going the short route atm!!

If you look closely you can see a shot glass next to the trunk for comparison. :blsmoke:

An update on the monster in the making:
photo(5).jpgphoto(4).jpg

the plant is still only ~8 inches tall

I'm about to go hit up the local shop for the Hortilux daylight 400w bulb (I'll also veg for the last 2 weeks of veg plus flower under a 1000w hps) and probably the soluble 3-pack from Fox Farms as well :blsmoke:

Been feeding every other watering working my way up gradually in nutes; I'm currently feeding 3tsp liquid Grow Big and she is taking it like a pro!

read riddleme's calling all noobs thread, and use his make it rain technique-

imo it is the fastest way to water /feed/grow
