Those ph tests that are for testing home tap water can u use that to test Ur nutes and water mix in a pinch cuz I have a ph meter but it's a cheap stick in dirt / water test for mosture/ light/ ph. So I just want to test it against something else cuz my soil comes up a perfect 7 but my nute water comes up a 3 and I don't want to put a 3 in a 7 and make a 5 with no ph up or down to use at the moment and baking soda and Epson salt won't raise it so... I want to make sure it isn't the meter just not reading liquid but fine reading soil

You can use the pH up and down for fish. I don't know about the stuff for pools.
As far as that soil pH meter, I wouldn't trust it for liquids, it's not made for that. I don't do this but some growers do in a pinch they use baking soda for up and lemon juice for down.

I don't grow and never have grown in soil but from what I understand you don't have to pH your nutes/water for soil?

Pro-mix is not soil, it's soil-less. Did you mix in any dolomite lime? If not you should have. Pro mix becomes acidic over time as the sphagnum and peat break down. I grow in pro-mix with dolomite lime and 50% perlite and i pH to 6.

"Did you mix in any dolomite lime?" no but i'll try it at transplant time
yes a little bit more perlite and i pH to 6.3 6.5

Yeah that's how I corrected my soil so I can't put m or soda too much salt in it
