I'm about to build a grow tent in my garage using panda film. here's what i am planning. Can anyone tell me if this looks good for a set up?

this is the set up i am planning. would appreciate opinions/help. I'm a newbie grower so this would be my first time doing this

Are you really only going to be using such a small portion of the room for actual canopy space?

Are you planning on supplementing CO2?

Also, what LED are you planning on using? I don’t know if any LED’s that are actually 1500w.

No c02. Light is in pic. And I’m keeping it small to keep it unnoticed from the street view. And I’ll only be growing 5-6 plants SCRog method.

It’s an unattached garage. And here are the pics and specs of the light.

(Actual power = 270watts.)

B1500 only consumes 270W±3%, the electricity of 0.27kW·h per hour to save more money than HPS/MH lamp; Perfect for 3.5x3.5ft grow area while 3x3ft flower

How are you planning on running the AC with an exhaust fan without exhausting all the cool air?

I would go with a different light, that's a poor quality light and only outputs a fraction of the rated "1500w". What is the budget for your light?

There’s a window there where I’ll have an ac unit. And then right above that slightly to the left will be the exhaust from the carbon filter. It’ll be sealed to particle board.

and I’m just trying to have a modest personal grow. And that’s the light in my budget right now. I’ll probably upgrade later but it’s what I’ve got for now.

So you have already purchased all the components?

You don't want to run the AC and exhaust fan simultaneously or you will just be venting the cool air.

With all the equipment you have I would definitely recommend something better than a $100 Epiled/Bridgelux LED.

The ac would be on auto temp and would run periodically. And I thought it was important to vent the used/hot air in the top part of the tent.

The light is supposed to be the equivalent to a 270watt HPS. it’s what i will be working with for now. Will upgrade when I can. But I still would like to grow til then. And I would have the ac on auto at a Specific temp. Isn’t it important to vent used air?

Make sure the AC is intaking fresh air and not recirculating.

You don't want the exhaust to be extracting all the cool air the AC produces. You can connect the exhaust fan to a cycle timer and have it run periodically (ex: 1 min on/5min off)

AC's also work by removing moisture out of the air so you likely won't need the Dehu while the AC is on.

Yeah. The dehumidifier was more of a just in case measure. Lol. And thx for the fan cycle advice. That’s the part I wasn’t clear on. So doing that...does it look good?

Yeah it looks pretty good. Nice illustration! I would maybe move the second oscillating fan under the temp gauge instead of by the Dehu. You want a breeze to blow at the canopy level.

Normally window ACs recirculate the air in the room. Most do not bring in outside air. Some growers never vent. Many vent after lights out.

Good info in here for any grower....

Making the growing space smaller with reflective sides would maximize the light.

You'd probably be better off buying a tent that matches the foot print of the light and putting the exhaust, carbon filter and light inside it. Place it next to the A/C so it can draw in cool air. Scaling back like this would allow you to see and address problems in smaller increments rather then trying to fix things that don't work after a larger build out.

Not saying don't do it, but if your desire is to get going now and upgrade later, a cheap tent and a couple hours work to set it up and your done. Plus a tent has a frame to hang the lights from, clip on fans work well with the poles, etc.

All that said, I built a room. I also wasted a lot of time and money on doing things I didn't need to, and not doing things I did. Happy growing either way!
