I'm Back! So what's been happening since 2007?

A 21 year old that knows EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING!

^that was me about 7-8 years ago.

I was young, overly enthusiastic and what I lacked in experience I made up for in luck!
I had a few grows under my belt before I joined the forum, one was a large 9 plant op that I was the caretaker for while a friend was out of the country but most of which were what I thought of at the time "super stealthy" as I'd grown them in my cupboard while still living at home with my parents.
Since then I've found out that they knew everything, thought "at least it's not a meth lab" and were actually taxing my stash on occasion.

After I joined I won a competition held by RIU for my "how to grow hydro" youtube video that showed a very simple Bubble bucket design that anyone could build for about $10.

The video not only won the competition, but also led to over 1 million views on youtube.

The competition prize was a big pack of mixed seeds from a seed bank that was a RIU sponsor at the time.
Living in Australia and barely out of my teens this was a huge deal for me.
Getting strains to grow that you actually knew were the genuine article and from reputable companies were almost unheard of back then. I was used to growing bag seeds or clones with "back yard" heritage that had been passed around a cross bred with dozens of other unknown strains.

So I started a new grow, the biggest one I'd ever undertaken on my own up to that point.

It was the most rewarding experience I'd ever undertaken in the world of cultivation, but I got into trouble and began to become VERY paranoid.
To begin with I was growing in a rental, and had to deal with constant house inspections.
Then both my girlfriend (now wife) and I got very sick and became unable to work.
Eventually my savings ran dry and I was unable to pay the rent. Which led to me almost being evicted.

The real estate came round completely unannounced while my crop was in full bloom 2 weeks from harvest, I didn't have a carbon filter, I didn't even have an ona block. My house REEKED of weed. And they sure as shit knew about it.

I panicked!
I thought the cops were about to burst down my door at any moment and throw me in jail.
I deleted EVERYTHING I COULD, photo's, video's... the lot.
I pulled everything, dismantled everything and moved it all to other locations.
Things slowly got back on track for me and although I paid back all of the rent I owed I ended up moving.

Since then I've not had another grow. I've actually barely even smoked weed in the last 2 years as I quit when I found out my wife was pregnant. Since then I very occasionally enjoy a toke while camping and that's about it.

But lately I've also quit cigarettes and alcohol and feel that I need SOMETHING to do in my spare time.

I've been looking into some tiny grows that people have managed to do inside of PC cases and I have to say I'm quite impressed!

I mean YES there is little to no yield out of these things but the meticulous care and love that go into growing them is amazing. I'm blown away by the fact that people can grow a plant in such a small space to maturity AT ALL!

So I thought I might come back into the scene and try out a tiny micro grow, just for shits and giggles.

Enjoyed reading this! You should move to the U.S. it is already legal in a couple of states, and will probably be legal in a few more after the next election. The Feds have finally backed off because they didn't know what else to do with the taxes that were coming in from Washington and Colorado. Hopefully things start to change in your hemisphere soon!

Thanks Battle Born/Dank Bro's, Yeah I tend to waffle on a bit haha! We finally got medicinal trials in tasmania and most states have decriminalised it, that is you don't get thrown in jail you just get a fine of about $150-400 per plant depending on which state you're in, if you're indoors out outdoors, and how much dry product you have lying around. Down side to this is sometimes they will be douche bags and count anything with a root as a plant (ie. clones, germinating seeds, seedlings) The only time you ever get in massive shit is if you're growing commercial quantities... for now.

It's the mini yield that makes me most interested.
See I'm in a part of australia where cultivation is really only frowned on if you are pumping out pounds of the stuff at a time to then sell on. The people that get sentenced the most harshly are normally those who get busted in the middle of a transaction and almost always organised crime is involved in some way.
I've known a few people that were caught with a decent grow op in their house and never saw jail time, good behaviour bond and a few thousand dollar fine was all they got hit with.
The actual growing of a single plant no matter where you are wont (in most cases) land you in jail, but if you've got more than 1/2oz- a couple oz of weed in your possession you can easily get charged with trafficking. (depending on where you're from)

THIS is what turned me off it before, I used to smoke an ounce or 2 a month EASY, and had to grow enough to supply that then store large amounts in my house. But now I have more responsibilities and simply can't be baked 24/7. A half Oz could last me a YEAR! It's a personal choice because when I get like that I can't function as a person, I can't work and I can't support those around me.

Basically the way I see it If I wish to smoke just a small amount with the least risk of being caught with it in my possession, I'm best off growing my own very small plant that noone else knows about. Not even my wife.

I'm supplying myself. With no one elses knowledge. I'm not affiliated with known drug dealers. And therefore should never put myself in a position where I'm at risk of being prosecuted.
But I can still go hiking once a week and enjoy a nice buzz on my own to destress from work/life in general.

To put it simply, PC case micro grow = best RISK Vs. REWARD in my own situation.

But if/when it's legal in AU I'll be the first one fitting out a room in the house to grow me some monsters! HAHA!

As I've said before it's a small single plant grow that I'll be undertaking in order to supply myself with less than a half an ounce every few months.
I suffer from anxiety and cannabis is the only treatment I've found that doesn't require daily dosages fraught with terrible side effects.

Hey man, just wandering whereabouts in Aus you are? I am in s.a and new to growing, any hints on where to buy the best stuff for my grow and all that would be great, also, you seem to know a lil more then me about the laws, be good to talk to someone who knows instead of just google n stuff, cheers
