I'm doing an early cut - But which way?

Hey guys. I'm new to growing. I've grown successfully 2 plants for the first time. I'm around 2 weeks maximum from harvest however i've got slight bud rot 3/4 up the plant on both plants.

My question is:

Can I cut the top infected half and try and cure it whilst the other uninfected half is still growing/flowering? If so, how do I cut it? Scalpel? At an angle?

Cheers :)

the whole top half i've cut isn't ALL rotten, just slight leaves and a tiny portion of the bud. I'll upload some pics shortly.

Cut off the colas,
break down the bud compleatley off the stem (I call this denoding) breaking the nodes off the "Bud" that is if your lucky enough to have your buds join together to make colas.

Then rack dry!

Feel free to put some more nutrients or boosters in the soil so the small stuff can become big.

I had some donkey dicks that I broke down to donkey balls. The leaf can die and then start the mold.

Its really easy to compleatley be mold free!
When you find a mold, chuck it and then do down the nodes breaking off again untill you have no mold, or snip it off if its just a leaf.

I find that if I have a "Suspected plant" I never hang dry and always break it down, NO STEM and you can compleatley stop mold.

Also a good dehumidifier is the ideal air 50 pint for $300 at any hydro store and those eco fans and you will be mold free.

yeah you can usually get away with scraping off the moldy parts, just make sure you are drying and curing properly so you don't keep it rotting. i like itsaplants idea of pulling all the bud off the stem to help avoid further rot and help it dry faster.
i like to cut my plants with a straight razor (something sharp as fuck helps) at a 45 deg angle to avoid hacking up the stem and leaving a huge wound.
