I have been treating for root rot for 2 weeks now and my plants are still not growing new roots. Should I throw them away and buy some new clones?

Wow. Those are definitely browning... You may be fucked. What does the plant itself look like?
Well some of the bottom leaves are yellow, one plant is wilting, I hacked the roots off of it though and the temp in the room got to 90F one night thats when it wilted. I just noticed today that the root mains are starting to grow new hairs from the plant on down, also a new root is starting to poke through the net pot. The roots arnt browning anymore, I put bleach in the res water and had them in it for 4 days. The water after the 4 days was still clear, no algae, no dead roots, I think i got it licked!

You can always drop the whole thing into a bucket of soil...it will live...I've done it. I have no temp control and can't DWC. You MUST keep the temp in the water LOW...like 70 degrees. If you can't, you can't DWC...you'll keep having problems.

Good luck...

Foliar feeding is 8-10X more efficient than root feeding, so it might be a good option in order to keep them healthy until they recover, whether you switch to soil or not. :)

I'd let them grow, and see if you cant get some viable roots to grow. Until your plant is back to NORMAL growth, I'd just foliar feed them more than you normally would.

I already put one plant in soil, it also had spider mites, or atleast it had webs on the stalk that come from spiders, so I sprayed the room for them. I put the plant in soil so that I can keep it away from the other plants, the others dont have any cob webs anywhere.

I noticed that the roots are growing new shoots, I am attaching a picture. The Blue Dream seems to be growing roots the fastest. It is the most resilient plant I ever seen, its amazing how fast it grows, how much abuse it will take, its my favorite!

I am now doing foliar feeding again, I had stopped because I was using res water to feed some of the plants, thus spreading the infection. So now I add a few drops to the water bottle. Should I also ph the solution? If so by how much?

The GDP that was healthy but is now wilting...

Its hard to see but where the hairs were now have dark spots...

Nice new root growth, and all from using BLEACH in the water!

I dont recommend using bleach to fix your problem. For white healthy roots i use hydrogen proxyde 20% to 35%. Cannazyme is another option and should be runned by alone it should also fix your problem. I wonder what bleach as done to your plants in a chemical way.

dude i've had waaaaaaaaay worse looking roots than you have and ended up with some dank ass smoke.
depending on the nutes you use, i use flora nova, they can look lots worse. roots don't look that bad but the plant looks like shit!
do you have good airflow into your rez? i had a plant wilt like that and die because of a bad air pump. this could be causing your
roots to look bad as well and the rez will have a bad smell to it. good luck with saving your girls.

I believe the yellowing and sickness is due to the fact that the plants havent had any nutrients in 2 weeks, its just been water, or water + peroxide, water + hygrozine, or water + bleach. Did i mention that I hacked half the root system off? Though everyone says not to use bleach because its bad for the plants, i weighted that with how bad root rot is, and in my opinion root rot is far worst then a little bleach, so I bleached em! It did kill off the root rot, left the res water clear, unlike the other 2 treatments, and prevented any algae growth. I do notice that all the new root growth is above the water line, I am not sure if it will come down to the water or not but if not then we know it doesnt like my water!

Tell me what you did!
I use Flora series and at first thought my roots were stained, since this is my first grow i am not sure if its natural that older roots decay. The plants wernt sick before i messed with the roots, it just wasnt growing that quickly, and i am sure atleast one of the plants in the res had it so I figured the rest were getting it. Alot of people on rollitup have told me I dont got root rot, but when I feel the roots with my hand I always come out with dead roots on my fingers. And the roots float, which they wernt doing before.

About the air, I am using 4 bubble curtains, on a 60gal air pump, a 85gal air pump, and the 3rd res is using 2 bubble curtains on a 30 gal air pump.

The root rot problem started as I believe due to my use of well water, the sometimes high temp of the res water 76F on occasion, and the fact I wasnt using any preventatives. I also was using air stones before, though they are great for tiny bubbles, they dont distribute the bubbles well, I like the bubbles right in the root ball.

I am folar feeding my plants, Ill take some pics and show you guys tomorrow, hopefully that will do something to increase the health of the plants.

wow....i must have missed the part about adding bleach. i prob would have gone with h2o2 instead if the root rot were that bad. but i always use hygrozyme and never have any probs with the roots other than brown color.

i was using those flexible air lines in a tub once and they got clogged up in less than two weeks with my floranova nutes. no bubbles were coming thru at all and i didn't know it until it was too late and my plant just wilted away and never recovered.
