For food check out the Cherry Cricket for the best burger in Denver!
A road trip up to Estes Park to see the Stanley Hotel from The Shining is sweet. You go through the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Minor correction; Estes Park is before Rocky Mountain National Park, not beyond it from the front range. Well worth the visit a long as there isn't too much snow.
If you want to visit northern Colorado, you have to make a stop in Ft Collins. That is, unless you hate great beer and college girls.

We came to Estes Park from there south, going through the the park but yes if you come from Loveland you don't go though the park. Either way, its beautiful!!
