I’m looking to change to LED! any help

hi so I’m currently have a 80cm x 80cm x 160cm with a 250w hps with dimmer ballast I did want it on 400w but it’s to hot and even with a Cool tube so I had to stick with 250w and it uses £15 a week in electric so I’m thinking of changing to LED I found this on amazon and it’s a 600w LED that apparently will be as good as a 400w hps has any one used one before any help would be good thanks

Most ebay/amazon blurple lights are not great and use titles like 600w grow light when they are not even close.
Tell me what light it is and I will check it out for you.

Look for the small print which says "consumes 130w" or whatever it is. You want to aim for around 50w per square foot of the actual power draw. With cheap LED it works out much the same as HPS cost of running wise.

For a better led using white diodes you will still need 240w , maybe check out diyleduk.com


For what its worth you really shouldn't be having trouble keeping an 80x80 tent cool with even a 400w hps if you have it set up properly. Its pretty cool in the UK right now and its only going to get cooler.

It should be only costing you less than £5 to run 250w 16 hours a day 7 days a week unless your getting absolutely raped on a meter.

600w roleadro is 132w power. You would be lucky if its enough to light a 60x60cm.

They are also very loud running at 55db, probably louder than your extractor fan.
You cant air cool them either. Obviously.

Its suggests it can cover 6200 square inches, I mean who the hell talks in square inches.
That's more than 6x6ft , its a total lie.

Here's a Scope 240 strip light in action in an 80cm x 80cm tent.
A ton of light, I ran it at around 200 watts.
The fixture running full blast, ~ 270 watts was too much for 80 x 80 on the par meter.
