Like its the year 2500 and we have space ships and we find planets with vegetation, then come across a cannabis strain we have never seen before.

It would definitely be called "Alien Kush"

A much more realistic scenario would be to find a remote island or area that has a new strain that has a common ancestor but has evolved independently.

But then again we already have innumerable strains with different qualities that have been discovered and/or bred. We already have enough strains that I will never be able to smoke them all.

"Total Recall" would be an awesome name for a strain from an alien planet.

I'm not sure but i had a dream where we started to revamp mars for human colonization and they were pumping Co2 from the liquid co2 available into the 'atmosphere'(i don't even think mars can sustain one) and all we used to create oxygen was weed plants fed water through underground hydroponics system.... thats when the dream got really weird.

Especially if it slowed tumor growth, eased pain, was easy to grow and made you think about the important things in life?

Then that is a recipe for prohibition my friend.
