impact of a "cold" grow?

It's been a cold winter and I can't get my tents up to normal temps. I'm running strains I've never grown before, so I can't tell what the direct impact of the cold temps are. The temps are 48-52º at night, and 68-70º during the day in one tent (in the garage), and 65º at night and 70º during the day (tent in the house).

mold, decreased metabolism, less beneficial orgs /activity, some more mold.

can be done though, heat what you can, keep air moving too. The 52 at night would concern me the most. , the other makes happy plants. consider lifting your buckets off of the floor in the garage, maybe on top of styrofoam, dirt/water holds temps and will release them during colder times. or those little pelonis ceramic heaters too, they heat well.
good luck, what state you in ?

Thanks for the insights. I'm in NW Oregon.

so, if you take one of those Fresnel lenses, dial it in near a grow light to focus on a block of steel to heat it up while lights on........bet you never thought of that huh?:P

I use a solar attic fan and the panel gets powered by the flowering light, the fan is ducted along a wall and provides moving air during lights on. i think its cooler than it really is prolly, but its just like the other wall with three electric mounted fans on it, but for free

Electric blanket under the inside liner most tents come with, they only use like 80watts full power and will keep your rootzones in the 60s easy while the lights are off, cost less than 4 bucks a month to run.

They are actually extrmely efficient, they sell heated mats and reptile pads that get a little hotter but you wont need it if your garage can maintain 50f, i got my twin size bla ket for like 10 buxks new on craigslist. A rootzone at 50f has the plant is in protect and id expect zero growth.

A space heater would work, but they cost as much as 35 a month
