Impact of Medical Marijuana on Prices?

In places were medical marijuana is legal, what impact has it had on the price of pot from other, non-medical sources?
Anyone have thoughts, experience?

I live in a non med state in a city that borders a med state.... since growers that live just north found out that the dispensaries actually test the weed before they get paid and checking for chemical and bugs and eggs and other stuff, and the grower may get their weed back and no money, it dropped the price of a quarter lb down from 1200 to 800... I've smoked some of this and I will say this super harsh on the throat like it wasn't flushed properly... alright high that isn't really strong... I then let people try mine and it is a smooth smoke, earthy taste with a great high but it is still hard to get a grand for it.... so overages drove the price down... hell you can go on craigslist and find people selling it in that med state dirt cheap because they can't sell it to the store...

Interesting. It does seem the the med dispensaries are educating consumers. The "glut" problem is interesting. In some places there are only a few licensed grow facilities, no outside vendors allowed.

Oregon with the new testing it's increased prices at clubs. Lots of pdx spots asking up to 300 a zip. Some still staying true to their prices at like 200-230/zip for their top shelf. Quite a few places at 250/260 though. I'm pretty sure street price is unaffected but Idk don't mess with that.

Trust me, I hope my state goes medical.... one of my grower friends in the med state just north of me took an lb in for me... 15 days later he came over with a 3800 for me.... before all this medical state street price was 50 1/8, 100 1/4, 300 oz that all they way to quarter lb... next break at lb which was 4000...

Well, in Ca, price for a lb was 4800 up to around 2001. Even though we went medical in 1996. Took a bit to start dropping. We are at roughly 2500(sometimes, like when its flooded, only 2000) for fire indoor. 1600 for fire outdoor. Its dropping so fast now, its crazy.
Good for the smoker, not so good for the grower. It's innevitable that prices will plummet. Basic economics. Supply vs. Demand. Good luck
