On the other side of the coin dude, why not go for it? Before I started my 1st indoor grow, I was talking with a good friend who has like 13 years experience under his belt, I told him I wanted to grow hydroponically. He told my not to bother, it's way too unforgiving, do a soil grow and use co2, this was a recommendation that I used and am happy I did. One (of the many) side benefits is you dont have to worry about any soprt of bug infestitation, you;ll get nice big stems, and tight internode spacing.
On the other side of the coin is you better be prepared with a good light, lots of attention is needed, and good nutes. They will get really hungry. If you slack off on the light or the nutes, the co2 will be a waste of time, as you need all 3 in proper amounts, oh yeah and you also need high heat too.
