i just want to post what i have found in the flowering room . i have down sized a few lights going for the best quality possible used to run insanely high co2 and temps 80 to 85 to benefit from the co2 . quality was good and did it for many years . last summer killed me it got to 95 for a few days in the room 99f out side 90 % humidity . electric bill was insane . i actually said fuck it just to keep it at 85 from 99 out side would costed me well over 1000 a month just for the cool and humidity . so the shit got loose would not light i ended up throwing it all away . rated it all at 1 except for 1 plant and some of the brands were the best you can get . this time my plan was keep it cool as possible kept it below 70 temps at night 60f and day 70 still injecting the co2 heavy idk if the plants are benefiting from it or not at these cooler temps . but shit the quality has gone up best i have ever seen any where . rated a 9 . until my woman smokes it to give it a 10 shes the professional lol . very happy just wanted to share . 38824e2b872db0f16ed7668ab043692c.jpg again i only grow cherry tomatoes . the kind you can smoke

Do you know what your indoor humidity was from the time you had high temps to dropping them down?

I run those temps well 71 day at canopy and 61 night sometimes down to 58. Key part is to have humidity at 35%

Lmao well ya... Optimal temperature for growing indoors is 75 daytime without co2. Anything over eighty can start to cause you trouble even if you don't know it's happening.

"Did you guys know if you have ice cream and you keep it ten degrees higher in the fridge it turns to shit soup?"

- yes, we all know.
haha I'm jp glad you had a revelation and got some good buds.

It's not some random thing I pull average two a light of top quality at 71° canopy running 1300ppm at 35% and I'm not the only one @RM3 and now we have @ttystikk changing his as well as he has seen the light. Better quality better yield. I have a agricultural consultant business and genetics company and have worked commercially. 71° enriched at 1300ppm with 35% rh is optimal didn't use to get a bonus if we didn't pull over 2.3lbs a light in rooms of 180 plants 20+ strains 45k watts

My comment was just in jest to the original post in regards to him going from hot to proper temps i have no knowledge of 71 degrees being a sweet spot over 75 and also that wasn't directed at you in not denying anything you posted... So you do not run co2 in these huge grows? You believe 71 is noticeably better for non co2 temps than running even mid seventies?! My grows usually stick around 73 personally and i can't complain with my results..

Even though I run co2, my ambient temps are 82* 1.5' under each hood/bulb from week 1 thru week 6 from flip. Weeks 7 and 8 ambient temps go to 77* light on, 73 lights off. 2 weeks before harvest (I run some strains to 69 days) is 75* on, 70* off at 500ppm, last week is 70 on, 63-65 off.

I run my ppm at 1000 from flip to week 7. 500 until harvest.

From week 1-7 is about 60%rh, 7-harvest is maybe 40%.

I just find this curious because it seems to fly in the face of all the research Ive been doing on VPD (vapor pressure deficit) .

I only follow VDP in veg and 4 weeks into flower from flip.

Have high rh twords the end of flower, and your asking for bud rot, mold, ect.
I tend to agree with your sentiments but have heard plenty of instances of running high RH, you just need waaaaaaay more airflow to prevent those problems. Depending on the density of the buds though I could easily see how this wouldnt really be feasible.

how cold can I make them ? I want to crank the ac to 60f for 2 days with a lot less light in the day night 55 . right be for harvest want them beyond hard as a rock only a few days left week 12 weeks and 5 days

the highest quality and quantity of all of my grows was at 90+f when my 2 ton broke down. two full harvests later i was able to disassemble everything and get the hvac guys over. i still have pictures of single colas that are 2-3x larger than a 1g milk jug.

but that bitch was a beast of a mom, and resilient as fuck. super chunky over-achieving, mold and mite resistant godbud hybrid. hardest part for that plant it was nearly TOO dense, buds would swallow fan leaves...

other than that, i concur with afghan.

Agreed I'm not saying its not possible to pull more at higher temps but the bud quality difference and density and resin coat is all greater at the low temps and low humidity.

I know believe me if it wasn't for the commercial company I worked for I would agree with u fully. But the bud that's grown at 71° day 61° night and 35% humidity quality is off the charts

73° is good I mean anything in 70's is gonna be pretty fire I've just found when you try and push it down and still supplement 1300ppm they get stupid stupid dense here's my Kandy Kush last runIMG_20160922_221854473.jpg IMG_20160922_221816160.jpg

Thank you for this information, For some reason i thought that 35% humidity might stress them out. And I've been trying to find the solution to denser buds because I know my strains are capable of it.

Oh ya high co2 at 1300 with cold temps of 71-61 and 35% humidity and you'll get magazine quality looking dense buds. It's pretty crazy how much a 2° difference can make
