hey guys here is my setup right now, not much thought went into it at first but needs improvements.

its a 400w hps in a 4x4x7 in my basement.

i was thinking about putting in another box similar to the same size as that one right beside it.
basically an 8x4x7 with a wall in between, and run a 400w mh on the one side and 400w hps on the other.

throughout the summer i've been having trouble keeping temps under 90. so i was thinking getting 2 ac reflectors

and ducting them both together with possibly one fan out the window/sewerpipe/upstairs (not sure yet, any input is welcome!)

the fan i was looking at is http://www.progressive-growth.com/proddetail.php?prod=15019

would this run correctly? or would i need another fan or two?

any suggestions is welcome, i've been browsing the forum and google forever. figure i'd run my plan by you guys since you's are the best!

Good idea to get two air cooled reflectors, bad idea to vent out the sewer pipe. That is a big no no. Otherwise you are onto something. Also, cover the walls with mylar for better reflection.

would one fan cut it you think? and where should it be place right at the end of the exhaust or right infront of the first light?

it depends how big the fan is and how long the duct is i would think a good inline fan would be enough i had to upgrade to air cooled hood i had same problem as you except i was running 1000 watts

UH OH! I vent out the sewer pipe. What's the no no? it goes out my roof mainly.

sweet thanks for all the inputs! i might just say screw the second box as it'll only be for veg and just hang the lights from the ceiling and lightproof my flower box. i can't wait to get out of the 87-90 degree to a more nicer 70-75.

What's the temp of the room the box is in?

I am running in my basement also in a room a little bit bigger but one advantage you might have by the looks of it is your room has ventilation around the seems (not a bad thing). How is the basement temp/rh outside the room? If its anything like mine about 15 degrees cooler ? Id say 1 fan w/ a cooltube should be fine as long as the basement air is being sucked into the room, wouldnt hurt having atleast 1 or 2 oscilating fans in there as well. ...the only differance is I have an additional fan in the cieling for heat extraction cuz i am running it passive w/out any ventilation holes coming in.

Add a small fan on the floor blowing up towards the light. The lower the fan the cooler the air that how i keep my Closet cooled and i only have about a inch worth of opening for the hot air to leave.I used to keep two fans blowing over the canopy or 1 over the canopy and 1 on the light which actually made it hotter.

right now 83 deg/47% rh, in the room with the box.

77 deg down the hall. same rh

but i got no ventilation, i just got that oscilating fan blowing air over the light with no exhaust.
