Increasing light without adding heat?

I'd like to run a dual spectrum but add as little heat as possible. How can I accomplish that? Florescents? I run an open hood 600 watt mh/hps for the respective cycles. But I would like to be able to run some blue during my flowering cycle. But i've reached my limit when it comes to heat. I can't add another HID. and I can't do much about my heat in my current setup. Best option?

Bigger extraction fan or air con might help.

I may get a better exhaust fan in the future. Mine does it's job well enough for now. An a.c. unit would cost just as much, if not more electricity than the light itself. Not worth it for my application

T5 fixtures and bulbs

AMMENDMENT....Air cooled reflector with a can fan or inline fan and/or T5 Fixtures and Bulbs.

More light will raise temperature regardless no way around it without changing the ventilation/intake temps or lighting system
Swap the bulb for a dual arc/blue would be easy but i would much rather beef up my ventilation first and add more lights.

Agree with all above... lights in cooled hoods or more fans/ac and anytime you add light it increases btu so heat is natural.. you could look at different bulbs that might have more blue like the eye hortilux super hps or look at CMH... just options to consider...

Well I have a couple issues with air cooling my lights. firstly and most importantly, I have no good source to draw in cool air to push over the hood. Secondly even if I had that option, I probably wouldn't even if I could. measurements show that glass stops about 10-15% of light right off the top. Add that with all the UV that is lost, and I just don't think it is worth it. I only have a 600 watt light, and its not a big issue until it gets 85 degrees outside.

You don't need cool air to vent over your cooltube. I just go filter / fan / ducting / cooltube / ducting out of the tent and room my tents are in.

It is totally worth it. The light will be able to go much closer that makes up for any loss of light.

My flower tent is vert. I manage to keep a 1kw hps vert as cool as a 400w mh in a cooltube in my veg tent horizontally. Go figure lol
