The Sentencing Policy Study Committee will be meeting on July 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Statehouse in Indianapolis to discuss reforming Indianas marijuana laws. Anyone from Indy plan going downtown to witness this meeting? It would be cool to get a group together and show some support and thank Karen Tallian for getting the ball rolling on this. Indiana is taking baby steps towards legalization. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something productive will come out of this up coming meeting. especially since our schools are lacking funds, roads are shitty (I've watched I-70 on the west side get torn down and rebuilt twice... i think they moved it over a couple feet to the right then decided it needed to be moved a foot back to the left), possibility of no super bowl (Indianapolis as spent who knows how much preparing, downtown streets are a mess, turned upside down and inside out), and people are getting shot for their moped (frighteningly funny). Low test scores? The solution? Fewer teachers and supplies. http://www.theindychannel.com/education/27847076/detail.html (Education Cuts, Layoffs) For some reason I'm reminded that we have cops that camp at smoke shops when I read this story ( I've seen them posted up at Obidiah's on west 38th, and High on the Hill on west 16th if anyone cares). http://www.indystar.com/article/20110722/NEWS02/110722006/Cops-Indy-man-shot-moped-stolen-Downtown-?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|IndyStar.com (Give it up!)
