Indoor Growing Origins

Does anyone know anything about the history of indoor cultivation. I'm curious on how the indoor cultivation process came to using hps lights because I'm sure they weren't used from the beginning right?

at one point in time there was no preserving food and it gets cold in the winter....people had to have been doing some form of indoor growing or another, like u said we didnt always have hps bulbs n shit but there were always house plants, just as we became smarter we made a better light for the times there could be no sun....thats just my guess tho....i am no textbook

Its because some people try to force their will on others(LE,religous zealots,cocksucker congressman etc etc..)and tell them its not OK to grow a plant god put on this planet,Oh and because some people try to STEAL the hard work of others instead of working a little themselves...

i remember seeing the first mention of it back in the 70's in some old High Times ads
i was amazed at the time, told my friends about it who didn't believe it(we were outside growers back then)
metal halides were in that ad
