Info info info I need info

Soil bio Bizz all mix
80 by 80 160 grow tent
400w extract fan with rhino filter
400w hps high pressure sodium blub
Temp is on a constant 80F with no humidty
Plant is 12 inches away from light
Germination is taken place in a propagator, place the seed in rock wool is bio degradable.

But after germination when should I put them under a 24 hour cycle of light, and for how long.

How do I know when they will be ready to drop it down to 12 hour cycle of light for the flowering process, and how often they should be watered.

Also I think the stem is week and she keeps on falling over, can someone help with this.

Ok, couple things- During the vegetative stage you need a humidty level of 40-50%. Seedlings and really young plants are still trying to develop roots and need to be able to suck in moisture from the air as well. That may have a lot to do with why your plants stem is weak, because a plants rigidity is completely dependant on water pressure (they have no bones).

As for how long you want to veg, thats totally up to you. You want to let the plant veg until it's at least 12" tall and has 5+ nodes, but after that it's all a matter of how big you want it to be at harvest time. The longer you veg, the bigger it will be. For an Indica the plant will generally double in size during the flowering stage, while a sativa will triple, so plan ahead. The length of the flowering cycle varies from strain to strain, but Indicas generally finish up in 8-10 weeks while sativas can take 12+.

About your light- 12" is a bit close for the plants age, especially with an HID. I don't have a cooled hood like you do, but I generally try to keep my 400w more like 20" from my younger plants and it's only in the 12" range with the ones that are 2ft or taller. It's not the heat so much as that the intensity of the light tends to bleach out young leaves.

As for watering, thats really a matter of learning your plants. How much water they are going to need and how often is going to be dependant on how big they get, the environment they are in, the strain, and how you train them. It's very, very easy to over water young plants, but once they have vegged for 3-4 weeks they get big enough that overwatering is rarely an issue. Their needs are also going to change as they grow, so plants that only needed water every 3 days when they were 2 weeks into vegging are going to want far more when they are 6 weeks into flowering.

Yeah, with the HPS you def want it further away when they are young (I just learned this with ours lol) I would also say to do a 20/4 schedule or something instead to give them a break from such an intense light (especially since they are so young) There are lots of differening opinions on light schedules, but I think you would benefit more from giving them some darkness.

I agree with kat. I personally run an 18/6 during veg. There are certain processes that the plant can only accomplish at full efficiency during the dark cycle (like storing energy in the fans leaves for use during flowering), so they really do need that dark period. 24/0 lights will make them grow faster during vegging, but I feel that it leaves them short on other things when you start into flowering.

Thanks for that advice we have done that now for a week and they are looking great; also what I need to know is we found some seeds in out bag, and decided to germinate them, we have femi seed growing at the moment, the seeds I found how would I know if they are male or not, and can they be grown in the same grow tent.

Needing more help, we found some seeds in our purchase and decided to germinate them, we are growing Fem bluse cheese at the moment, and want to know how would we tell if the new seeds that we germinated is male and can we put them in the same grow tent together with the Femi seeds.

You wont know the sex of the new germinated seeds until you veg them, then sex the plant or take a clone and sex that.

Can someone help with this problem, on the bottom leaves they are turning yellow, can you let me know what to do about this problem, thanks, its my first one I have planted and the other is also looking the same.IMG_0069.jpg
