Info on Purple Gorilla

I desperately want to know the genetics of the purple gorilla. I'm almost sure it's a clone only here northern cali. I've smoked the bud, seen it growing in a garden, and I have access to the clones but nobody seem to know the parents of this beautiful baby or maybe it is jut a particular phenotype. Ive talked to growers/smokers/clone vendors here in the 707 but still no answer. Somebody let me know. By the way I'm not talking about gorilla/wmd, gorilla grapes, or anything else that sounds similar to purple gorilla. If you have info on the purple gorilla I'd love to hear from you.

I have searched around on the internet also....some pics on nugporn, somebody has a grow journal on tokecity with purple gorilla, but still no info on lineage
local club here has it featured in their newsletter as the "strain of the month" but all they say i that it is a "part of the purple afgan family..." not so helpful
here is a link for that newsletter:

A friend of mine has been growing it for about 6 months and he claims that it is a cross between "Fucking Incredible" and "Big Bud".

I'm not sure where he gets that info but I have to say I am skeptical because he always gets a very nice deep purple crop (even in the heart of summer) and it seems unlikely to me that FI would get so purple, since Big Bud is non-purple and FI itself does not get that purple. But who knows.
I would like to find out the lineage also from someone who really knows.

Thanks man....yeah I dunno still looking for a definitive answer. Well I'm gonna start a rotation with the purple gorilla. Tell me what your friends buds came out like tilopa. I have been told its a heavy yielder, deep purple from the inside out regardless of temps. I've smoked the bud and it's a great solid indica stone without putting you to sleep. I've been doing rotations of black domina for almost two years now and it's time for a change. The domina gave me no less than two ounces per plant average with 10 day veg and I'd like to do at least that good with this purple gorilla. Just made some additions to my garden, well basically just a linear light mover moving two 600's over a 10 x 4 tray, top feed hydroponics, rockwool. I was growing in a 6x4 tray and two stationary 600's. I added a 4x4 tray at the end of the 6x4 to make a 10x4 tray so to speak. 10 feet of track moving the two lights. Anyway peace out.

Here's my Purple Gorilla. I picked em up at Compassionate Heart in Ukiah.

So far it's the earliest plant in the garden and has turned purple from the inside out. Looks like about 10 more days. It's really wide, likes to breathe and is averaging about 4lb / plant. I planted on May 24th.

I called the owner of Comp Heart to find out hte lineage and they weren't sure. One person said the father was Purple Rain Forest, but didn't know the mom. The two were able to confirm that it was developed in the bay area

Here's another pic of one of my 3 Purple Gorilla's this was taken Aug 9th. The plant was a clone in a rapid rooter placed in the ground on May 24th. So that's about 75 days old.

I have 3 purple gorilla outdoor and hoping it will be like luni's. it's looking pretty good but this years weather suck in nor cal but by next week the weather should pick up and hopefully no more rain. I'm just hoping it won't start to flower. The guy that I bought these clones says it will turn purple outdoor and I still don't know what they cross this with. Luni where you growing from?

Outdoors she produced about 2.5 to 3 lbs per plant. The one characteristic she had was there's a fine line when to take her fruit. On this particular strain, she wasn't as pretty if you didn't get her at just the right time. I would say there's about a 3-4 day window when the trics are at there best and the flavor & taste carried with her. If too late the taste withered away pretty quickly

i im a patient who lives in sac ca ,everyone has an opinion on the purple gorrillas origin but it was my lifelong friend who created this strain with 1983 gdp from our friend eddy lepp or"poppa" as we callem, you see he had a male and bred that with erkle, and he already had a purple haze/purple power plant that got pollinated too, so now we had a purple haze/purple power/ gdp and a erkle /gdp and he took the the erkle/ gdp and finally got a male seed after about three seasons and we mixed that with lavender the out come was purple erkle/gdp/lavender and that was good but not good enough for our mad scientist so they took the male of purple erkle/gdp/lavender and mixed that with purple haze/purplepower/gdp through cross pollination the result was finally achieved like 5 years ago before the great legend "POPPA" turned himself in for a ten year sentence ...in warm weather it stays green in the cold it goes black. TT named it the purple gorilla because it often causes asthmatic like symptoms where it feels like a 500lb gorrila is sittin on your chest making it hard to breath plus i dont think the name purple haze/purple erkle/purple power/ 1983 gdp/lavender sounds to cool plus it is too long and wouldnt fit on a prescription bottle .......... heee heee heee i know the truth hurts right?
