Inline fans

Do I need a filter for my inline fan that will be used to bring fresh air into my tent? I have a 6 inch fan to be used as exhaust with a carbon filter was wondering if I need to use a carbon filter when I'm using another fan to bring air in

Why would you? Some use a pair of tights to stop contaminants or bugs getting through but unless your exterior of the tent smells I don't see a point
Could my 6 inch fan be used for both? Drawing fresh air in and drawing air out of the 4 x 4 tent?

Using a 6 inch fan for exhaust, 6 inch fan for the air cooled hooded light and a 4 inch for intake new to growing will post a picture when all is set up this weekend d

I use a 4 inch inline fan with ducting and a filter for exhaust and 4 inch inline sitting on an ice bucket with ducting for my intake

I used to do that but with a 10", so I had a vent at the bottom, filter/fan was at the top and made sure the sides were sucking in and did a smoke test, I think they call it ;passive; intake

This is exactly what I'm doing too. the top fan is always spinning and I've got two layers of fine mesh cloth over the bottom vent to stop bug attacks.
