Intake/Outake question???

I have a gorilla 2x2.5 tent. I have no problem with temps in the summer but the winter is cold. currently my temps are too low, like 65 because the carbon fliter keeps sucking my warm air out and fresh air in. If I turn it off I can get a few CFL's to heat it up to 75 or 77 where I need to be. Then I have no fresh air entering or exiting though. How can I get the temps up to a constant 75-77 with scrubber on 24/7? My outside room temp is 70. Font want to have to crank up the central air. Or do you think 65 during the day and 60 at night will be ok.

i am constantly between 60-78 never had problems... some afghans will show color at 60 or even 55 with the lights off and the gene will come out. better a little more chilly than too hot. as long as you don't go into the 40's you should be ok.

edit: even in 40's im fine. at about 40 is where my winter outdoor gets problems. im on a damp coast right by the ocean and never get mold.. perhaps luck but i always tarp them at rain time.
indoor never goes below 60 and i prefer it to my gardens that were in the high 70's. less chance for disease and pests i think.

Sound like running 60 to 65 is not bad indoors is nor bad in your opinion?

Yeah, that is what my numbers are without the light on now.. 60-65 off, 72-78 on... If it is going to get warmer in the future then you definitely want to stay where you're at now, if you're planning on keeping the room set in the same fashion without buying more equipment.. if it heats up another 10 degrees outside (or at your intake air) in the next few months your temps inside are going to rise too. During veg running into the high 80's is fine with proper humidity, but dry or (and especially) humid during flower in those temps is looking for trouble.
What is your humidity at pre-intake (outdoors or in the room) and then at plant's height?

preferably a tad higher would be better but your temps should be fine. you could always get a small space heater though.

I agree but i figure why run the extra 100 watts of cfl's when Im locked in at 65 regardless! Its almost spring and the temps will naturallr raise to 70 then.

So true. I am in the middle of winter in a poorly insulated room. Temps are 65 with lights on and 60 at night. Intake air is between thin glass and outside. Im far from danger zone temps, so I'll just deal with a little slower metabolism or growth. Spring weather will naturally up me the 5-10 degrees I want.

I'm growing some Afghani's now, and yep, you're right, they definitely go purple with cooler temps (about 60 at lights off). Bud production is spectacular all the same though.

You don't have anything to worry about if those are your temps. If anything, you could turn your fan down with a variable switch at night, as to not cycle the air as fast causing cool air from rushing over the plants (this is what I do).

Unfortunately however, aphids love the cooler temps, so be sure you check your plants thoroughly before you put them into flower, and keep your grow areas clean.
