My friend some years ago had a hydro set up and got an insane root system by plugging an air pump directly into the rockwool.
The roots must have been longer than the plants at some points-we're talking over 2 foot roots that snuck down the hosing and into the reservoir.
He also at some point had his air pump connected directly to a high output but non-toxic ionizer.
I've heard this will kill plants but at the same time, I know they are common in a lot of indoor nurseries and hydroponics shops.
So what's the real deal here?
