Is a dry down/back period required for harvest?

is a dry down period of 24-48 hours absolutely required prior to chopping and hanging? Not worried about needing to give the plants an extra day or two to dry.
I stopped feeding and gave just water for about a week prior to cutting. The day before I flushed the entire root zone until clear water came out then cut and hung the next day. Any issues with this approach?

What do you think happened from the time you “flushed the entire root zone until clear water came out”. To the next day?
