Is any one else excited about the opening of mmj retail stores

I'm actually considering applying for my license next month when the liquor boards starts accepting applications its been a dream of mine and i'm already preparing for it lol but i realized i would need to get 3 separate licenses 1 to grow 1 to process and another to retail maybe i wont be able to do all 3 ...if thats the case then ill settle for just being able to retail i have my associates in business so it shouldn't be that hard...gosh i cant wait!! i hope this isnt just a set up so the federal government can crack down on us and throw people in prison

First off its 1500$ a license and 250$ for application fees.
Second you can only hold 2 permits a grow/process or process/retalail.
Third from what I have heard when you grow it you receive 3$/gram that you harvest and give to processor and processors receive 3$/gram they give to retailer and retailer gets10-15$/gram and paus hefty tax on top of that.
Maybe your should read up before you get to giddy

And also no not exited for new stores and I502 it is hitting the actual medical patients not allowing us to grow anymore and only.allow us to hold 3 oz rather than 16 or what your card says.
Also it will close all the mmj dispensaries in washinton state,causing hundreds of people to loose their job and passion

250 to apply, 1000 for license. Retail can only hold a retail license. No more medical grows. At all. No more safe cheap access for our elderly or people on fixed incomes. The state wants no competition. Anyone with even a single plant will be a bootlegger and a felon. If your lucky enough to pass for license which by the way you must have every aspect of your business in line before applying. Including funding, which will be especially scrutinized to weed out any "drug money" and organized crime. So whoever will help fund your setup, which no bank will touch, better be prepared for massive financial and criminal histories. They want to know what dirt, medium, bytes, ammenents... Everything. Drawings of floor plans. Everything. And it cannot be in a home. This has to be a business in a zones and approved area in which your local government approves. Not as good as it sounds when you voted yes does it. Medical patients are going to be the worst hit. Kinda sucks

Medical marijuana patients in Washington will have to register with the state if they don’t want to pay pot taxes.

That’s just one recommendation issued Monday for sweeping changes to the state’s largely unregulated medical pot industry.
Washington is grappling with how to regulate the medical marijuana industry so that it doesn’t become a black or gray market that competes with new, legal recreational pot.
Medical cannabis users are likely to chafe at the proposed restrictions. They include the creation of a mandatory state registry for medical pot patients and their designated providers. Patients who register would be exempt from pot taxes. But the list would be made available to law enforcement.
Also, patients could no longer possess a 60-day supply of usable marijuana. Instead, they’d be limited to three ounces per week.
Another dramatic proposal: collective gardens and home grows would be banned. Pot patients would instead get their medicine at licensed recreational pot stores with special approval to accept medical marijuana authorization cards.
Ezra Eickmeyer with the Washington Cannabis Association says the proposed rules go too far.
“The thought of completely merging the two systems and simply creating a database for people to be in if they want a tax exemption for getting some pot to smoke – it doesn’t really cover what patients need.”
Eickmeyer says some merger of the medical and recreational marijuana markets in Washington might work. But he objects to the draft recommendation that patients could no longer grow their own marijuana or have collective gardens.
Next up, the public will have a chance to comment on these proposals. State regulators will then make final recommendations to the legislature by January 1st.

I just moved from a place where MJ is treated like a tragedy(kentucky) So on one hand im very excited to be able to buy it legally, but at the same time a little conflicted cause i dont
want to support big business or commercializing MJ. I guess all in all i am, and i am simply because i am without currently hahaha.

People need to start getting involved with what is really going on. I really do not think 502 would have passed if people did just a little bit more research. legalizing pot in the manner in witch the government did was designed to destroy all competition and as a consequence open up the black market again making affordable quality meds a thing of the past. Government is at its best when getting out of the way so hard working people can create jobs and in turn help the over all economy of Washington state
