Is it a Good Idea to Start with Growing Mids?

Okay, so I just started today, and I have a pot that's 3.5 inches tall and wide, it's probably bigger than you think. but I started it with 3 seeds, and it came from only decent bud, it's not shit bud but it's no kush if u know what im sayin. I didn't germinate the seeds because I read that's it not a good idea to do the paper towel method, I used good rich soil. I haven't put any fertilizer in it yet. For lighting, there's 3 basic light bulbs facing it from all over. I used about 1/4 of a cup to water it a few hours ago, and it still feels a little damp. Also the pot doesn't have any drainage holes but I put like 5 rocks in the bottom.
Alright So is there anything I'm doing wrong? Thanks so much to whoever helps me

two 75watts and one 40 watt. They're your basic household lamps, and they're about 6-8 inches away from it. Also the seeds have not sprouted yet

Also can somebody please explain the stages, like I just read the 18/6 and 12/12, so 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness for vegatative state and 12 hours of light and dark for flowering state, but I don't know the states. Can somebody please give me the states there are? thanks

veg is when its growing....and u can do up to 24/0 ....flower....is obvious...its flowering....and u need to lower the lights to 12/12 for it to keep flowering

those bulbs will not be sufficient. you need to have at least fluorescent light for the veg stage which is first and you leave them in veg until you decide to flower them by turning 12 on 12 off but then you will need high pressure sodium bulbs or HID bulbs i would say. you could stick with the fluorescent ones but your buds wouldnt be dense.you leave it in the flowering stage until the pistils (the white hairs) turn color and you need to read on this because you only have a small window at which your bud is the best.also GET BIGGER POT WITH DRAINAGE!

ok, dump all of the regular bulbs, and get some of those spiral cfl jobbers.. the bigger actual wattage ones that you can find and or afford.. get as many as you can fit in the grow space.. on the package it will say something like 6500k or 2700k, this is the temperature of the bulbs, or rather the spectrum of the color of light that the bulbs emit.. you'll want the 6500ks for veg, and the 2700's for flowering.. you can also mix and match the k's, i like that idea... maybe two of the 65's and one of the 27s for veg, and the other way around for flowering..
you'll need a bigger pot eventually with some nice drainage holes in the bottom so that they don't drown ... you also want the lights about an inch or two away from the pots once they sprout, but for now about four to six inches will do fine... you've got to keep moving them around, the lights, when the plants grow so that they don't get burnt..
don't feed them any kind of nutrients for atleast about three weeks or so.. then start off feeding them about 1/4 of what it says on the bottles.. every week bump it up another 1/4 so that after a month of feeding, they are up to full dosage...
don't worry about flowering for now.. just concentrate on trying to get them to grow for now.. water them till you get some water to run out of the bottoms of the pots, and don't water them again till the soil feels dry when you put a finger into the soil down about an inch or two.. then water them again till you get a good bit running out of the holes in the bottom.. i'm sure you're now seeing the reason for the need for drainage holes in your pots..
just do this much for a month or so.. oh yah, get yourself a cheap $5 timer, and set it for 18 hours on, and six hours off.. much simpler than trying to do it by hand trust me.. if you get this far, or have more ?;s, don't feel afraid to ask...
