Is It Common For Dealers/Growers To Use Auto Flower Strains For Fast Turnaround?

This may be a stupid question/post, I don't have a lot of exp in the different strains and telling what I get from the local dealer. It seems the last few purchases I have made seem to be good quality, nice dense buds and with plenty of trics. and good smell. But the smoke itself doesn't come off as very strong over all. It doesn't take long to cap out on how I feel.
I started to think maybe this is some type of auto flower strain after some of the things I have read. It doesn't seem as strong, and the buds are smaller. I have got a few bags of this waiting for my grow to finish and the seller always pumps this like its high grade hydro. No surprise I know.

I guess the question is, Is it more common nowadays for growers who are supplying dealers, to use auto flower strains for the faster turn around?
Or am I just looking into it to much? Should I even be able to tell the difference?

I know they don't produce as much but if you grow several small plants I would think it evens out.

Sounds like a good idea. Mind if I steal it?
I never heard of that but hey w/e works. I think the idea, correct me if I'm wrong, is to find what ppl want then clone the shit out of it. It's called supply and demand.

A friend of mine handles all the transactions with said dealer from my original post. He is your typical casual smoker who doesn't know shit about different strains and plants. So if someone tells him its good he views it as scripture. I think everyone knows at least one guy that no matter what you give him or how much he gets mega stoned and immobile, that's my friend.
In my area it seems more like whatever the dealer has that's what you get, not so much testing the market for what people are looking for. Think my area has a low weed IQ or at least the circles I run in. Out of the people I know who have purchased from this dealer I am the first one who us whoeven knew what an autoflower plant was. So I don't think he has any issue selling whatever he has people just caulk it up to, "this weed seems different" I am not in a medical MJ area so you take the dealers word for what ever you get and there isn't really a request you can make.

I never knew either till I joined RIU. It's cool what they can do with breeding. And I didn't know potency is lower in autos. I'm not inclined to want to grow an auto ATM. It's on my to do list but pretty far down there. I'm pretty old fashioned about stuff. And slow to catch on. And a little lazy I guess

I'm thinking about doing some autos next year, but I really want to grow a few plants from several different strains. I want to have 2 or 3 strains of auto, mostly the others will be indica, probably try a couple sativas and might have to finish them out in a green house lol. But if the autos work well, I could plant more after I harvest the first ones. I'll just see for myself how they work :D

Most autos cant be cloned successfully so the seed way is the only way with autos. Try autos in mass planting only a foot apart in full sun and turn over a harvest every 8-9 weeks.
