Is it ever too early to switch to bloom?

Well, I'd likely let that pretty little sativa in the back vegetate for a couple more weeks to increase its yield, but those indica up front will put out some decent size colas. Remember, once the plants are given 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness each day, their hormones will explode and they'll begin to stretch like crazy. Some strains have been known to more than double in size during flowering. However, it is advised that you keep stretching to a minimum as you want the shortest distance between internodes as possible to keep your buds compact. To minimize stretching, use lights stronger in the blue spectrum for the first couple weeks of flowering before switching to lights in the red spectrum to finish the flowering phase.

its all about your preference, you can totally bloom from start, but i get really good results with a couple months of veg with bushmaster, and i get shrubs, then flip them and viola, beautiful stinky bushes of goodness.

unless your in a hurry to get rid of them, I would let them go. You will get a much bigger yield and have much more to show.

The best thing to do is to wait for the plant to mature to it's natural flowering state. ie. When the nodes start to alternate. You will be much better off if you do this, as opposed to forcing flowering when the plant is still young. You want that main stem to be fat enough to be able to hold up the big giant cola on the top. If you force flower to early, your stem will be weak and flimsy and you will have to mess with tying the plant up or posting stakes to keep it standing tall towards the end of the flowering cycle. Of course you can force flower any time you want, but you will lower your yield in the long run.

edit: I also forgot to mention: The girth of your main stem is directly related to the amount of water and nutrients that can travel to the main cola. Obviously the fatter that stem is the more nutes will get to the flower and the bigger the flower will get.

i have 10 going 12/12 from seed....first time here. but fuck it it right never know till you try, but so far so good i guess. trial and error

These are all great responses.

What about quality? Obviously yield will be impacted, but is quality affected if you go to flower before there are alternating nodes?

I should LST all my plants, cant ever have them more than 50 in off the floor including pots.

also flowering from seed is likley to increase your population of males.. red light causes more male tendencies early on
