I've had many successful, but slow germinations using rockwool, rapid rooters jiffy pellets, and all using the papertowel method for germination, but this time i'm planting directly into soil, and I would like to determine the sex before I transplant them into their 2 gallon soil pots, and i've seen people germinating autoflowers in red or blue party cups, and I thought I could reduce transplant shock and put them directly down in the soil. Jiffy cups supposedly allow roots to grow through the peat moss they are created in, but I don't want the roots to curl or get rootbound in the jiffy cup.
Is it ok to start seeds in jiffy cups and transplant into large pots later without worrying about them getting rootbound?
FYI: I'm using Fox Farm Ocean Organic for both processes.
