Is it possible to breed solely outdoor?

My plants are outdoor, in the soil. everything I've read rebreeding is aimed at folks with indoor, part indoor, or at the very least outdoor in very small, moveable pots, to move the males away from the grow when they show.

My problem is that by the time they show, my plants (because the roots have infinite space in the soil) are already massive, much too big to move anywhere!

People have been doing it for thousands of years.....so, yes.

You're talking a little pollen checking...and sure, if you're careful, you could do a little pollinating. But there's always a risk with outdoor plants, that your ladies could get some random pollen floating by.

In California, scientists have done pollen sampling and found that a very high amount was from cannabis. (seem to recall it was 1/3)

Outdoors you have no control over stray pollen so you can't be sure if seeds are made with the male you're using or with some pollen floatimg around. Also keep in mind you can pollinate someones whole crop. Might get shot for that.

Ooooh...didn't think of that. You can take a cutting from the outdoor male, then cull it...move cutting inside put it in water and under 12/12 lights. Collect the pollen and put it in a plastic bag. Then when female is ripe for pollination stick a single branch inside the bag and shake it around. Tag it so you can find the seeds later.

They are falling to flower now in winter

on the downside as they say

breed indoors means those seeds you make are what you want

not someones else's pollen

Been doing that baggie thing in my tent. Had a male in an isolation chamber flowering together with females but only collected pollen in a bag and put it over a branch and taped it so none could escape. After 24h there was so much condensate in that bag no pollen could survive

Im out way in the sticks on my own, so no chance of cross pollination either direction.
I want to be a bit more precise in my breeding than just taking what comes, and also only want to pollinate one or two buds of the females.
I realise this is asking a lot of an outdoor grow.
As males mature earlier, is it possible to harvest the males pollen before the females come into bud, then brush it on selectively?

Normally only a couple of weeks but if you dry it and freeze it...it can keep for months.

Apfel...5 minutes is enough...hell 30 seconds is enough. Once you shake it all around...remove the bag. Or did I misinterpret your post. Was that pollination successful?

I'm outdoors from the seed drop, and I always make a few crosses. What I do is put plants that I wouldn't mind crossing close together. Space your patches out, and don;t put too many plants in one patch. It can be done, but it's tricky.

If you want to collect pollen more than one time, when the male starts to form flowers, you can dig it up then, put in a pot and take a safe distance away. I've cut shoots off a male up to three times. I use bread bags to pollinate single limbs. Spray down the rest of the plant with water. It will kill any stray pollen.

Dry your pollen, mix with rice and freeze. Will last forever if done right.

That branch looked a bit exhausted but made about 30 or 40 seeds. It was a transparent plastic bag hahahaha

I've never kept pollen. Only used fresh so no opinions on how to keep it fresh. I isolate males indoors, carbon filtered, before I select through them. But if you are outdoors, and staying outdoors you got to pick out males you don't like early. I also use a brush and a small glass jar. I have had good luck isolating the pollinations. I used ox hair and can literally see the pollen gather in the hair like paint would in a way. I then just brush the pistols. It's very gentle and I didn't damage them at all. You can see when the brush is empty and brush more back out of the jar. No puffs of pollen.
