Is It Possible To Tell The Diff In Strains Between The Leafs And Stem On A Clone??

I was wondering if its possible to tell the diff in strains by the leafs or the stem? I have people telling me yes,i would love some opinions on the matter!

You should be able to identify a difference (leaf structure etc) but not actually identify by name (unless you're just really really good and know what resembles what)

based on leaf size and shape, by smell and taste by color and flowering time, you can narrow it down but there are 2500+ strains, unless you seen that type of bud and smoked quite a bit of it your not gonna be able to tell exactly what it is.
