is it the temp of the room or the temp on the surface of the plant?

hi, im running 2 x 600 watts just wondered if its the actual temperature of the room thats most important or the temperature on the surface of the plant, cus im getting really high temps with a guage by the plants surface but not so bad when measuring the room temp?? any info peeps?

Room Temp, but if your plants are too close to the light they can get heat stressed. And if way too close they become crispy.

the canopy meaning the top of the plant or grow room? cus im getting high readings of over 85 - 90f on the top of the plants surface!

If you hold your hand at the top of the plants palm down and the light seems a bit hot, then its too hot for your plants and you should move it further away.
