Is it time to harvest?

Hey guys,

Wondering how much longer this plant has until harvest. Problem is I'm not sure how long its been on the 12/12 cycle, must've been >8 weeks now. Anyway the buds are really small (plant around 3 feet tall), but all hairs are pretty much amber and have lost the white color. Any idea how much longer it has? Under a t5 and cfl's if that helps.

Another thing.. I've heard that you should flush plants 2 weeks prior to harvest, any advice on how to do that? Miracle grow gradual release soil is used here, so I'm wondering if flushing would even work?

Looks like 3/4 weeks to me. Anyways you gotta check the trich's bro. The amber to cloudy ratio. More cloudy = more thc head high more amber = more CBN body high (cbn will put you on your ass) thnks for clearing that up for me ace.

CBN, not CBD. CBD is dependent on genetics, CBN is produced when THC degrades and is what makes you sleepy.

Also, hard water/touching/dirt/ferts can all kill the pistills,they will grow back though if your not too late in flower. if its really 8 weeks into flower then you should be checking the trichs already.

Na, don't flush MG soil. You'll just over fertilize. Next time use better soil.

Having a good digital USB scope makes all the difference in the world when learning to know when to harvest. Check out SUPEREYES USB SCOPE on Amazon. Cost is under $30.

Haven't checked the trich's yet, but even if the trich's had a decent percentage of amber color, wouldn't you say these buds look too small to harvest? I'm just wondering if its normal for the color of the pistils to be so amber weeks before harvest.

For the first maybe 6 weeks of flower, the two plants were under a four bulb t5 light. Only in the last 2 weeks were two additional 40 watt CFL's added. Any idea how this could affect the grow?

Its not enough light.

You needed more light ( lumen) .

Now you can safely place your 42, 65 and 85 W CFLs about an inch and a half near your plants without burning them. For 125 W and 250 W lamps, the plants should be about 3 inches away. I use a 4 - 6" height.

The size of your growing area and how big you want your plants to grow will determine how much light you need.

Small plants require about 3000 lumens per square foot, which is the minimum amount of light you will need. But since a lot of light is lost with distance and reflectivity, it is safer to aim for higher light. Ideally, try to achieve about 7000 to 10,000 lumens per square foot for medium plants. That is the lumen strength you should try to achieve. I give my own plants ( each ) 275 w ( 3 bulb ) per. These are Autos and always get good growth and branch symmetry

So you're saying that a four foot long, four tube t5 fixture (with about 200 watts total) and two 40 watt cfl bulbs are inadequate for two plants? Its a little late now, but would it be worth it to buy two more 40 watt CFLs for the last week or two of flower?

You can use what you have for 1 plant and pull about an ounce. Assuming you use the lights efficiency. The two extra 40 watts were added too late. Im sure it will help though. Grab a 250 HID and use it with your cfl's for 3 plants next time. Much more yield for sure.
