The way I was taught was to wait for 5th true node before I Top or FIM. Might I suggest a little LSTing while she is young to try to maximize ur yield. It can also help with ur vertical space problem. Good Luck and Happy Smoking. :bigjoint:

Thanks Toter!

I just want her to be a bonsai mom though, looking to get some clones from her and then do a Scrog growth. For now I just want to control her height so she's easily manageable.

Topping the 5th node is the norm, you can do it sooner but allowing 5 nodes to form first means that the plant is strong and healthy and is much more likely to handle the stress of topping without problem then a smaller plant would. Ive heard of people topping at the 2nd or 3rd node without problem and with great results though so it really is a personal preference sort of thing.
What I do is top at the 5th node, and then when the 2 new shoots come in I top each of them taking the 2nd node on them off and leaving the first, this has given me very short but very very wide plants in the past, and I will probably do it more in the future

Dont you grow to the 5th node, then top at the second node if you want to mainline your plant?

yeah you can wait till there are 5 nodes and you can top them down at the 2nd or 3rd node and it doesnt really stunt it that much. i always top for 4 colas.
