Is the organization that landed 12 men on the Moon stupid or lying, or do you trust them?

Neil Armstrong - Apollo 11 (1969)
Buzz Aldrin - Apollo 11 (1969)
Pete Conrad - Apollo 12 (1969)
Alan Bean - Apollo 12 (1969)
Alan Shepard - Apollo 14 (1971)
Edgar Mitchell - Apollo 14 (1971)
David Scott - Apollo 15 (1971)
James Irwin - Apollo 15 (1971)
John Young - Apollo 16 (1972)
Charles Duke - Apollo 16 (1972)

The Moon is ~250,000 miles from Earth, it rotates at ~27 Earth days (Sidereal rotation period = 27.321 days) always showing the same face

So, are these thousands of people incompetent?

Why cant we just go extinct when it happens?

I say let it be and accept the world we live in, while we live in it, and make changes here if necessary while we have the time. Then, just let go.

I would say thats typical american thinking but im not looking to bash anyone for their beliefs on here.
You stated that the earth is doomed and with it mankind than why not stop pumping all your money everywhere else instead and fix the place you live.

It could all be over tomorrow for Earth. It is not if, it is simply WHEN. And we are already way late with only our secret repositories on the moon.

We could be sweep by a gamma ray burst today that will sure as shit, strip off the atmosphere in a few weeks.

Haha yep, Branson's space ship wasn't built to explore, it was developed and built so that they could charge millionaires a whole lotta money to give them a space ride. Just the first attempt at space travel commercialization, like you noted.

Branson might have been able to make it all work if he had collaborated with the Russians for the propulsion and guidance systems.

That Elon Musk is a smart guy though, he saw that the Russians pretty much had a monoploly on the propulsion aspect of orbital craft and started his own endeavor.

Space exploration will grow by leaps and bounds once the private market gets involved, in fact you can see that happening now.

Nothing wrong with being conservative in your economic views, its how most people are able to live long enough to see retirement.
Just think if we found a new element on Mars that opened up a whole new possibility in technology that would give us clean free energy forever. Imagine how life would change for the better.
