I am a new grower and sometimes I am cautious cause there are so many dumb fucks that have never seen nug trying to tell me how to adjust my fuckin PH.

Well man in the end its just a weed. So many ways to grow that are all great and as I have learned very quickly my best mentor in my opinion is my own experience. You know the problem with any very large forum, and this is a very large forum, is that you get all levels of knowledge and experience. You see the entire bell curve here. That is what makes it so valuable. But yes you do have to pick and choose the sources you listen to so it does require some work on your part vetting sources which can make for some frustration.

Great post curious. As with any forum, you have to have a little bit of knowledge to be able to pick through the junk. I'm sure the noobies have the best of intentions but they let their excitement (and inexperience) get the best of them. Probably the best barometer is to look at the "Join Date" and the post count. Post count can be meaningless too, but if they talk mainly on the subject of growing, it is a good indicator. Hang in here with us Maddog; I've enjoyed your posts. Feel free to PM me with any question; I've got quite a few successful grows under my belt and I don't BS anyone. If I don't know something, I won't tell you I do just to make myself look good.

i can see how there can be an element of crap on many forums... but id have to say that RIU has the largest group of people who are passionate about cannabis and not like other forums where the vast majority like 90% just sit around and toke it up and just shoot the shiz so to speak...
there are many facets to RIU and alot of sub-forums where there is alot of really good information...
also take for instance the quality of people on here just one example of a thread that was just put up recently about someone being homeless and just look at the response of CARING and just GOOD PEOPLE responding to help them out because people on here from what i have experienced actually CARE
other forums as i have seen too many times if someone posted something like that they would probably get laughed at not get good advice... and just plain get trolled to death...
same as potpimp just said and by the looks of it yet again another caring person that cares about its fellow members cause otherwise why would he offer to help (see what i mean)
alot of us here are experienced growers and there are some who are not... but you should be able to soak in the good and flush out the bad
anytime you feel that you need any help just like potpimp said feel free to ask

I find it silly when people let the internet get the best of them. Think about it this way - you look up a video on youtube and as watching decide to scroll down to the comments. You then see comments, "What the fuck, anybody watching this is a pussy." or "Dis is PhUckiNg Ghey!!@#" and then more people get pissed and are like, "WTF doood why would you say that I bet you have a small dick, bitch." And while watching that you can either go one way.. or go the other... OR just watch the video and take said learned content or entertainment with you, forgetting about the twelve year old internet trolls that have nothing better to do than use their newly learned cafeteria-table bad words.
This place is great, man. Last year, I didn't know the first thing about growing but after reading this forum night after night I've attained not only the skills to do so, but a new respect for the close knit growing community that I never knew existed. As said above, learn to take the good information and leave the bad. The stupid kids talking about guns, knives and grenades in the black briefcase and toke n talk, are the twelve year olds that don't have valuable knowledge to add anywhere else in the growing forum and take advantage of the internet by trolling places that they don't belong.. don't mind them. This is the best grow forum and there are some guys around here that are no joke. Take advantage!

ozstoners... its a little slow though cause not a lot of people use it because weed is illegal in aus but most people there are mainly interested in growing and are always happy to help out

that is why usually if someone is having any issues with their plant they usually just either ask a question without any info or just post a pic and say "hey, my plant is sick please help" and dont really give any info on how it may have gotten sick in the first place...
and that is why i and others who do this will be a good indicator of is to see who is knowledgeable and who really can give you the best answer, and that is when someone posts an issue with their plants i usually always ask if im not completely baked at the time and that is to have the poster give a complete detailed amount of info so in order to give the best diagnosis...
i mean hey... no one just goes into the doctors office and tells the doctor... hey man im sick my stomach hurts... what do you think i have doc??? and then the doctor says oh that must mean your lacking potassium...
see what i mean??? the good doctors are going to ask questions probably lots to come up with the best diagnosis possible in order to help fix the problem
