Is this a case of too much load or just dirty

Only running 600 watt hps and 150 watt led mars hydro ts1000.
Came into the room hearing a crackling with my lights out. Maybe the initial surge was too much? Maybe the dirt making contact caused this? I feel stupid for leaving soil residue on the power bar. There's no excuses for that. Shame on me. I figured I could leave it since it's a decent master craft power bar that looks like it can be used in dirty places. Been using the same setup on this timer for the last 40 days. Thxs for any replies!

I feel stupid for posting this. It's definately dirty, but I want others to see that things can turn from ugly to possibly worse if you're not careful!

Im not some super Mars Hydro fan, i do have a ts1000 FWIW, but unless you have some good evidence please dont go suggesting that the light is to blame. There are many variables that could have caused this, but at first glance I would say that power strip being that god damn dirty is more then likely to blame.

It was a post of someone who had a closet full of lights. They claimed that Mars Hydros were burning in their grows yes. I wouldn't know from personal experience :eyesmoke: :peace:

A loose connection at the plug can cause that to happen, arcing. You want the plug to fit tightly in the receptacle.
