Law03 Active Member Feb 11, 2009 #4 The way i understand it, many of those types of lights are just for ambient light, rather than for producing the spectrum needed for plant growth They are supposed to cast a nice shade of light on the plant so it's pleasant to look at. It'll look much more pleasant under a 400w mh/hps ^_^ -law
