Is this a problem or not??

Sup fellow RUI's!

I have been checking every sticky before posting, and found nothing that will help me solv my "problem"?

My plants are still in Veg and will be put on 12/12 in 3 weeks.

The funny thing about this is that it drives me insane! really!!

I have a grow room with three different types of lights, all plants are the same but one (UK cheese).

I run one 360W LED and have two bigger plants under it and one smaller, i got one 400w hps (SONAGRO both for veg and flower) and one 125w CFL wich i use for a scrog.

So to what might be a problem

Then stems on some of the plants are little - alot of purple on them (not on the leaves, only the stems, both leave stems, main stem.)

the degree of purple are whats bothering me,

the plant under the CFL have no signs of purple.

the ones under HPS have just some small lines of it

and the one under the LED are really really purple =/

All plants are in the same typ of soil, are on the same watering cycle

the same age, only thing thats different are the type of light.

If any one have any ideas i would be really greatful!

Thanks

Oh and another thing.

I planted a random seed in a small pot and let it grow there for a week or two, and it showed the same purple stems just after one week, in new soil.

So it beeing a lack of one any npk mn mg etc might not be the problem ?

Soil im using is Golden Label special mix.

and this small one are also grown under the LED light.

Here are some pics for some one to have a look at, i'll get some High res pics on thursday

These pics are about 1 week old, and since i re-potted all of them to larger pot they seem to get a little bit better, new growth are not as purple.

Any how, new pic are coming, until then this will have to do!

can you rule out genetics? do they look healthy? can you post pics whats your feeding schedule? what line of nute? there are a few things that can cause this. see what you can rule out.

I reckon the yellowing is caused by the Light Intensity of your 400 Watt HPS

Say *Raise up Lights* with an Australian Accent

Without feeding schedule and amount info, Just looking at that last pic seeing where that reflector is I would say it could be burning them considering I only see one small fan to move the air. I would try raising the light 18-24inches maybe even higher depending on your wattage.

I feed 0.5 liters twice a day, i just bought some new nutes, Golden label soil A&B + Gold label ultra Mg + Gold label ultra Pk

I use A&B + Ultra Mg as of today. small amounts 1/4 of recomended dose.

The light in the last picture are the 125w CFL and that plant are doing 100% fine wich is wierd imo. it should show the same signs as the others do ?

Well the seeds come from AMS- seedbank all are Fem Uk cheese. If the purple thing is due to genetics, then all the cheese should show some purple stems?

I was thinking, can it be from the light? - If the LED light are more correct for photosynthesis then the hps/cfl are, perhaps those plants that are under it, uses up more of the nutes in my soil then the others do, and thereby have a nute deficiency?

All the plants are looking healthy got some leaves that i have removed, they just died ( wich is normal?)

I was a little late with re-potting them so they stopped growing for a while but they seem to get better for every day that goes by.

They have allso reached maturity, the nodes are not growing next to each other any more.

Other then the purple stems they are looking good

Just thinking out loud here =)

OH! and another thing, the temp in the room are now perfect!! 24.9 celcius, but they was at 20-22 for 2-3 weeks before i got it to 25, could that have made them purple?

i rememberd that i had one outdoor plant in the woods, and when the temps got down to 8-15 celcius it turned purple the whole plants, leavs stems buds.

just a thought

Purple stems are normally caused by a large`ish drop in night time temps

Your hps plant will get a fair bit of heat during the day

Your led plants get lots of either 660nm light or deep red or infa red or a mix of all 3

Hormone reactions plants need around a 10 to 11hour gap to produce a hormone change for flowering unless they are auto`s

A large drop in red ray`s over night will cause stems to turn purple similarly to how flowers can turn purple in purple strains

UK cheese is prone to stem colour change it`s nothing bad it shows a plant is developing it`s stem

The leaves on the other hand are probably burning from the heat of the hps get it up higher

or go all led

So I got my new leds today no longer need my 2 300w panels any ideas what to do with them ?

New pics arrive tomorrow! had some trouble with the camera, but its all solved now.

About the purple stems, seems it can be one part genetics, and one part nut problem, and since i re-potted them and gave them some nutes it is turning green again :D:D:D and they are not stunned any more, the damn scrog is f-ing amazing growing 2-3 inches each day!

Thanks for the info! seems you can be right, gotta check the night temps tomorrow!

Use your old LED's for clones, or you can use them for scrog :D If u havent done a scrog yet, you should really try it, really really nice way of growing.

You could also try the 12/12 from seed method with one of your lights in a smaller closet, since the leds dont give away that much heat =)

Growing is the best i've ever done! so many ways and methods you can do, even combine them for some extra fun :D

I can tell you tho, i think that i wont ever grow the normal way again since i started my scrog!! thinking of doing a 1x3m scrog with 3 Cheese plants :D and 4x 125w cfl!
