been running out of soil and have no way of purchasing more due to lack of car ( i can catch an uber but i mean fitting in a big ass bale in there car idk..) lately i just been recycling my old soil that i've tried to leech out and then i toss it in my compost with worms and i just let it compost and i use that as my medium.

I am wondering though is this safe to use for the plants? it's mostly jut vermicompost thats why and it's fresh since i just started composting back up but i don't feed anything nasty like meats it's all just fruits and vegetables.

we have a shit load of cardboard and carbon items like clippings that i try to compost over time so i mean really it's just free for us but i wasn't sure if it's too strong for plants or what. trying it on my cannabis plant now it took it well but then again it was a big girl when i used it not sure how a seedling will handle it.

I live in Alaska. Pro Mix is a bargain here at $60. Most charge $65. I recycle my PM repeatedly. It has no nutritive value itself. Further aging it brings the pH to a more neutral reading. I use my used regularly to germinate seeds in, transplants and etc. I leave it out in the weather after chopping. The worst that comes from it are volunteers. Weeds, spruce trees etc. Just pull them out.

Soil just gets better and better the more it is recycled. Compost is a great way to amend it. You may need to add some extra perlite as time goes on to make sure it retains good drainage. I only had a problem one time. Hubby thought it would be ok to throw in some soil from my yard. Infested the whole thing with root knot nematodes! Don't do that! I've also had some issues with fungus gnats, but with good air circulation and foliar sprays with milk and silica, you can knock those out quick.

yea i live in Hawaii i was trying to shop online but the soil costs me Regular price +200-300+ for shipping im like fuck that.. it goes for $60 from the shop that sells it to me but he don't deliver or anything.

i try to compost as much as i can right now cause im out of soil so i have just been using that as my medium but i don't dry it up like most do i just take it fresh out my bin. wish i had a paper shredder but i use a bunch of cardboard since we dont get the newspaper at my house plus cardboard is free i just toss it in whole used to chop it up but that shit gets old fast.
