Yeah the girls are always right, we tend to be dicks.

If it smells musty / moldy that is not good. A grow should smell fresh and green and floral.

If your humidity is pushing 60% try to get it down like 35-40 when your lights are on. Don't overwater.

i think i was just being a hypochondriac ill keep an eye on them. My humidity always runs quite high its hard where i live to keep it down tbh. for my next grow im going to buy a small dehumidifier and hang it at the top of the tent

I don't know how big your grow tent is, but if it's not that big (like a couple feet by a couple feet, this does not work with a big room) you can actually lower the humidity quite a bit just by scattering silica gel packets around the floor and near the fans, you can find them in everything, vitamin bottles, new shoes, etc. In December we had a few days where the humidity was in the 90's, and I tossed a couple silica packets into my grow box near the fan and the RH never went above 60 even with lights off, and usually stayed about 35-50 with lights on.

I was thinking about trying out one of the little dehumidifying boxes as they are pretty cheap. My tent is (80*80*160) cm so it is relatively small

2014-02-01_15-21-23_9.jpgI should probably just kill it. It had a real nasty reveg and still looks like crap because of that. Do any of you have advice on how to protect my other plants?

I would get the infected one out of the ASAP, and I would spray all the other plants down with SM-90 as long as they aren't late in bloom. An ounce of prevention is quite literally worth a pound of cure in this case

I just posted this in my journal. Irony? Coincide?

Grey Mold....About 10 days ago I noticed a white powdery substance on some of my lower fan leafs.
I thought... either these girls are partying without me or maybe it was a residue from my humidifier. The water here is a hard water.

Last nite I noticed that the white powder had turned grey and I found more of it.

The conditions I've created to keep the nodes tighter and stretch to a minimum during the first 2 weeks of flower with the lower temps and humidity between 50-60% has been a perfect environment for "BOTRYTIS" aka Gray Mold. After more research (3 diff grow bibles and a friend with many years of experience) I came to the conclusion that this is what I have happening inside my tent.

I've cut the rh down to 40% and will be using a sulphur burner or vape for the next few days during lights off.
This should work.
I'm lucky that no buds are involved.

I will still keep the temps on the low side in keeping with my original plan.

Sorry no pics .. riu is having problems again?

I've done ok without the "likes" not working but not being able to view or display pics on this forum makes me think that this is NOT a very good website for doing journals. I may have to go back to pen and paper.

For what it's worth,
Just my .02

@farmasensist

yeah its deffo PM and blowing that spore into the air was a big fuck off mistake , you just spread the virus !!

fortunatly for you PM is easy to treat , get a spray bottle and use 1 part milk to 9 parts water (you can also add cinamon to the mix if you like) spray the area infected first then the whole plant , then continue to protect new growth weekly , ... once you finish the grow id recommend bleaching your whole grow room to kill any spores that are still floating about

As soon as I saw the spores floating in the air, I realized I fucked up and spread it more. Ill pull the plant out and turn the fan back on to hopefully bring the humidity down. I have some fungicide made by same company as seven dust. I might cut that with water and spray the other plants. Should I leave the space heater on or will the cold discourage the PM from spreading?
