Hey people. I been searching the threads and can't find a answer. I read somehwere that u can force a plant into early sexing. By geting a lower branch and wrapping in a black bag with holes for vent . Is this true ? If I got it wrong some one help

I'm pretty sure you put it (the selected branch) into 12/12. This relies on you covering it at the right time every day. I have not done this personally. I'm sure someone who has will be able to shed more light on the topic.

Yeh i've heard of it to, but i've also been told you need to do it perfectly you'll just fuck it up and waste time.

HMMM...never heard that one. But that does not mean it won't work. Theoretically it is possible I guess. I agree with indicator, it would have to go into 12/12. My suggestion though is to be patient and let the plant take it's course. Why shock it and stunt it's natural growth and development. If it is a girl could hurt the yield. If a boy it will show sex soon after 12/12 is induced. Sooner than a female in all likelyhood. That is just my .02

Instead of covering the branch why not just take a small cutting and sex it ?

You can sex just one branch. You don't need holes in it for air. The holes will let light in and either make it so the branch wont sex, or you take a chance of it going herm on you. Just cover the branch up, make sure no light gets to it for 12 hours. In a week or two you should see sex on that plant.

Cool thanks. So gotten so what u guys are telling me to cut a clippin like if I was cloneing it and just cover up that one clone. Right or did I get something wrong. I dohave to let the clone roots before covering it right?

You don't have to cut anything off the plant. You can just make a sleeve, put it over a branch and tape up the bottom so that no light gets into it. Or you can take a cutting and root it and put it in 12/12.

Cool yea I like the idea more if I cutt a clipppin root it then 12 12. Cuase if I fuck up the one clone its ok. I just don't want to herm the whole plant if shit goes bad

me too. I tried all that stuff at one time or another. not worth the effort. by the time clone start to show original plant will show pre flower.

I have sexed by taking cuttings. Yes, it is like taking a cutting for a clone. Just plop it into water/bubbler and do 12/12. I think mine showed up in about 10 days. Then you have your sex and hopefully a viable clone. I had clones that didn't root but still showed sex, so I don't think it has to have roots to show sex.

Cool thanks indactor. So if my plant turns out male from my force into 12 12 clone then I assume then plant I took it off of is male so trash it??I know its a stupid question but ill ask anyways
