is this wrong?

I know a little about electrical . But i was helping some guy with work he had me help him install some receptacles and when he did the breaker he connected the black to the breaker the white to the bar ,and then he cut the ground gave the cut wire to me and said sell it for copper he was being funny.. I said why didn't you connect the ground he said the house has that copper long bar in the ground is what he showed me correct?? i hooked the grounds in the boxes should i help this out again? Im no electrician so is this wrong not to hook up the ground wire on the bus bar.??

Inside of a house 2 outlets they work buttt...he works building houses so never thought any bad about him it worked the plugs i saw that but just cant get over it.. him not connecting the ground.. please someone explain ,,its bothing me..

Both the ground and the neutral (white) should be connected to the bar inside the panel...is this guy an electrician? I did commercial/residential work for an electrical outfit for 5 years in my late 20's/ early 30's so I know enough to tell you the should both be connected to the buss bar. GL

He also brought this up the houses built back then had only two wires and white is connected to the ground through the other grounds . ya he his i believe to have me work under him watch and approves of my hooking the grounds in the outlets then not hook it up..

Just ask him to explain why he did that and tell us what he says.

I saw him yesterday i wanted ask him i will today i said i was to going chill with him today. I think he did explain to me
The white gets connected the bar which has the grounds connected to it now the had copper grounded in the earth.. im no master but im still not trusting of that makes some what sense i would have connected the end of story..

I didn't want to edit my post so this what i left out ..The white gets connected to the bus bar where the grounds are connected from the other breakers .. the house has the copper that goes in the earth which grounds everything. Which makes sense but im not trusting of this .i would have connected the ground end of story. But he cut it so no can unless you add more wire..

Cutting the ground off is wrong and is against NEC. The copper that is connected to the house and out to ground rods outside the house is for lightning. An outlet with a ground will not work properly unless you land that ground wire on the ground bar.

I did know theres a ground for a reason. Should i go to that t house and fix it for free seeing i did most of it he did the breaker .i know these people he does too sad. Trust its a bitch. I ts been eating me up inside safety.
