Jack Herer-Somebody Shout at Me!

Hello everyone,
I've been growing Jack Herer in my wardrobe for three months now (in soil) I put it into flowering on the 13th March and its due on the 8th May (apparently). I'm using a 400W HPS bulb, with Plagron Terra Bloom and Headmasta. I give it 2 litres of water a day, once in the morning when she wakes up and and an hour before she sleeps. The plant has some small nute burns around some of the leaves, the plant itself still only has about 5% of it covered in brown hairs, so I'm wondering is it worth flushing the plant cos of the nute burn?
Or should I have down that a long time ago? Also am I feeding my plant too much water daily? She's in excellent bud health but there's 8 days before she's due and although the buds are gigantic at the moment there are still hardly any brown hairs at all.

Best way to tell is looking at the trichomes with a 30x mag or loupe, to see if its ready.

I grow this strain, and I feed 1x a day, but I have them in coco coir. In soil you should not be feeding that much.

Jack herer is known for its abundance of orange hairs, so that's what you may be waiting for, but unless you got your seeds from sensi or sannies, it is definately more of an indica style jack herer. And I can tell this is true because if your plants are done in 8 weeks, they are not fromm sannies or sensi. However, my jacks finish in 9 weeks, not from sensi or sannie either, still great smoke and has the same "lineage" but its not the dominant sativa jack herer. So you don't necessarily need to be waiting for red pistils. Remember, a lot of them will change color as it dries.

The color of the hairs has nothing to do with how far along the plant is. There are some strains that keep white hairs all the way through

I bought the seeds from Greenhouse Seeds and the expected delivery was 8 weeks, I wanted to wait until the buds were 85% covered with orange hairs before harvesting however I feel like I may be waiting forever. So do you think I should just feed it 1 litre a day then?
Does anyone else flush before harvesting aswell?

How does a plant survive that much water? You should only be giving it water when it's dry, I lift the pot up and if it's light and the top soil is dry down to an inch with my finger, it's time to water, usually about every 3-4 days. Then give it water till you see a run off.
