Jock Horror and NYPD 1st seed gro

Hi all, Happy holidays. Just thought i would share my latest grow with you guys.
Ok i managed to get 10 fem seeds from Nirvana in to the country.
3 NYPD survived and 4 jock horror survived.
First pic is my set up.

Next 2 pics are of the seed after 24 hours from putting them in the germination tray.
I'm stoked they took so fast to germ.

The system I am using is an eight site top drip system with a 3000L per hour pump. A little over kill but i have found even with this kind of system it makes a difference.

I am using Dutch Fest grow and bloom formulas. Nothing else.

Actually I lie. I'm also using H2O2 and later in bloom I'm going to use some shooting powder i have lying around from a year or so ago.

reservoir is only 45L with an auto top up system i adapted from a toilet cistern inlet valve.

Any questions or comment please do tell me.

Oh Oh Oh i almost forgot.

I'm only using 1 600 watt HPS all the way through hung vertically. The ballast is only a normal mag ballast.














Fast forward 6 weeks and you have these plants below.
Remember all this off 1 x 600 watts light.
The Jocks are very indica dominant them being only about 500mm tall.
The NYPD are very sativa dominant and they have been LST'd to within an inch of their lives.
Good old bondage session this morning. LOL

This last pic is a bunch of clones i just cut this afternoon.
Have a 2 Liter bottle bubbleponics system I am working on so some of these will end up in there.

Evening all, Just thought i would add a few pics of the girls progress,

7 weeks from seed now and just flipped to 12/12.
lets see how they go.

The jock horrors are all near 2 foot tall now and hope to see a little stretch as they are very short.
They are very wide and bushy though. can't wait till these are ready.

Anyone here grown these? Care to share your knowledge?

Ok now on to the NYPD.
ok these are taller but they don't look like it.
I lst'd them a couple of weeks ago then tied more of the taller branches down about a week ago.
First time i have tried LST but i think i have done ok with them.

If they were not tied down they would be about 3 1/2 foot tall right now. Way too tall for my room.

I think they have filled out lots in the week since i last posted.

The last pic is a thing i'm playing with and they are 2 litre soda bottles with the tops cut off and made into bubble buckets.
the little clones are thriving in them right now.

Hmmmmm might start a 2 litre bottle thread.

here is my weekly update for the girls.

I just flipped to 12/12 on wednesday or thursday and so far they have already stretched approx 4 inches.

The jocks seem to be stretching a lot faster.

Just changed the res to bloom nutes and chucked in some Peroxide.

Girls are looking great.

On the floor you can see my impromptu 2L bubble buckets they are doing great.

I'm more impressed with the Jocks than i am with The NYPD.

The jocks have huge roots compared to NYPD.

They all love the nutrients running around 1.5 EC.

All this is still on only 1 600 watt hps bulb hanging vertically. There seems to be something in this vertical bulb because I've never had growth like this on a bulb and reflector before.

Thanks man. Its been a long time growing big plants but i think i'm doing ok.

This grow is experimental in so many ways.

Unknown genetics, only the one light.
New room etc.
So many variables to go wrong. LOL

Good morning kind people,

Went into the grow room this morning and this is what i found.

I check the girls at least 3 times perday as I'm an impatient prick and can't wait.

Less than a week into bloom and the Jocks are showing their girl bits already!!! Woohoo.

Can't wait till they finish.

Nirvana says they are a 9 - 11 week strain but they also say they are sativa dominant too (these seem to be indica dominant)so maybe they will finish by mid february *fingers crossed*

Any ways here are a couple of pics of the girl bits. Only little yet but definately girls.

Also I'm getting leaves larger than my hand so I've included a pic of one too.

Now another thing,
I'm gonna try and get some extra seed of some clones of these girls using colloidal silver.
Ok done my research and think I can do it in a closed room away from these girls.

My question is this when the plants with babies finish flowering do the seeds need to be cured or dried before they can be grown?

I ask this as i also grow chillies and they need to be dried before planting.
Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

Its time for my weekly update.

Wow where do i start.
they have grown so much in the last week. They are now 1.5 weeks from being turned 12/12.

the jocks have stretched so much. At least 12 inches so far.
I have 2 of them at 80cm and 1 at 90cm tall. they got flipped when they were 50cm tall.

The NYPD's are doing ok. they have stretched a lot but not as much as i thought they would.
Maybe i sould not have tied them down. Maybe next time round i'll just try and top them.

Ok now for some pics. they are all showing girly bits now. mmmmm i love girly bits.

Here are the LST'd NYPD

I also have another NYPD which is a runt and won't do very well but i didn't have the heart to cull her. I'm not wasting light or nutrients on her as the pot needed to be in the system anyways.

Here is the stem on one of the JH. Almost an inch thick at this stage.

Here is my opinion so far of these 2 strains.

I am favoring the jocks far better than NYPD. because the jocks have vigorous compact growth which perfectly suits my grow space.

The NYPD grew very quickly up until i tied them down then they pretty much stopped vertical growth.

However this is not to say that my technique is perfect. Maybe they just don't like being tied down.

The yield at the end will tell.

Ok and here is a quick pic of my 2 litre bottle bubble buckets.

They have trebled in size since flipping into flower but are very lanky so yeild will not be much.



this last week I have been removing large fan leaves to open up the centre of the plants.

I hate the popcorn buds. So far this seems to have worked as I am getting great growth in towards the middle.
If it casts a shadow I'll remove it.

I just bought 5 autoflower Jock Horror bean yesterday. Since i moved i haven't had a good light proof setup the auto's should be perfect for me. i'm looking around at ppl's grows to see how good the yeild is from this strain.

Honestly couldn't tell ya at this stage mate.

My harvest won't come through for about another 6 to 8 weeks. But the way they are growing i think at least 5 to 6 oz of this size plants is acheivable.

These ones are not autoflower though.

The jock Horror i have on a scrog doesn't seem to be doing as well. Plant is short and bud development is a little slower.

Next grow round I think I'll only go for 1 NYPD and try topping it and see how that goes.

Looks like I'll Be running the Jock Horrors in the future.

This week I'm going to put 4 jock clones into flower and spray 1 with colloidal silver to try and create some seeds. these are going to be separate from this grow.

then I might do the same to the NYPD to get some seeds for future use.

Good afternoon everyone,

Its been nearly 2 weeks since the last update so a lot has changed.
Been busy and all hell and only just took these pics.
So as of yesterday I have just gone 4 weeks since flipping the switch to 12/12

As expected the Jocks have more than doubled their flower size.
The NYPD are a little slower but they are coming on nicely too.
The NYPD's have suddenly turned brown which i'm not sure why.
The colour is in the actual flower and is not mould or anykind of rot.
Any ideas on this would be much appreciated.

Be fore anyone mentions yes the girls are heat stressed but i can't help this as where i am is in the midlle of the worst heatwave since records began. As i write this its 4pm on thursday and its 42C outside.
The air con is on 24/7 trying to keep the girls cool but its fighting a losing battle.
I put frozen bottles in the rezervoir a couple times per day and this kinda helps.
The girls are also drinking about 25 - 30 litres of water per day.

Andnow the last pic is my breeding programme to make some feminised seeds.

I have 4 Jocks and 6 NYPD that i am trying to get some seeds out of.
I am using 1 jock as a pollen donor by spraying with colloidal silver. Will do this a couple of times per day until the flowers and balls show.

Hopefully by crossing the jock with the NYPD i may get an indica heavy NYPD. Will see how it goes.

Hi nice grow,how did the nypd turn out?i am too currently growing jock horror autos and nypd hybrid by nirvana.they are both sativas not indica,ive got the catalouge for nirvana seeds and there in the sativa section.?so i dont know whats happening there? I like the way gou have lst'd.i only topped my nypd.what was the smoke like from them both?cant wait for mine to finish.did the nypd actually take 11 weeks or not.i could do with some hints and tips if you have any.i will upload some pics too go compare.peace..

Hi there. My final yield put of this lot was a pound. Not bad but not great. But was only under 1 bulb.

I bought the jocks because the description was similar to the nypd.
However it looks like got an indica dominant pheno.

Damn phone is having a hissy .
Anyways as i was saying.

The nypd was very thin very stringy buds but was a nice smoke. The buds came out a very deep purple colour which my friends liked. The stone was a uppy type stone very much like a sativa should be.
Because i was not getting very good yields from this plant i only did 3 or 4 generations for it.

The jocks were a typical indica body stone /couchlock .
Again i had friends who liked it.

Im still growing the jocks and finally getting some decent. Yields.
