Hello boys and girls, hope everyone had a good Christmas and new year. Well lets get to it shall we...Im wanting to grow in a stealth chest of drawers, roughly 60(W)80(H)35(D)cm these measurements may vary abit. Im wanting to maximize my results in the small grow space so ive thought of this. Using a 250w hps with a layer of glass between the light and the plants; to reduce heat and whatnot. You can buy specific measured glass from a website i found, saying its 65$ so about 40£. Do you think this is a good idea or would you just advise a cooltube to be used. As i said i know a 250w hps is gonna be tight in such a space but i want to get the best results i can.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. Heat, humidity both potential problems. You can get quite nice results from CFL without the heat.

yeah true ive seen a few good results from CFL, they cost roughly the same for a 250w hps to cfl, which is a bit annoying as you'll get better results with a hps.

LOL what? Where are you pricing your CFL's and HID's? I can get 5 45w 6500K bulbs for $22 shipped. 2700K are a little more expensive but I can still get 6 40w 2700K for $45. Both for those put together still don't match the price of a name brand 250w HID (I wouldn't buy a knock off HID lamp).

i was talking more of the cfls on greens not the household ones, may have to find a uk online shop that sells cfls that arent 12w
