There are a few meanings... The first and most common is Original Gangster. But i have heard it refered to as Oregon Grown. But i guess it just depends.

In the case of OG Kush, it means Ocean Grown. There is a story about how it came to be. Something about a conversation where his friend said he knew this must be Mountain Grown Kush, because it was so good, and the grower said, "No, this is Ocean Grown Kush". Hence OG Kush. I think the guy who called it mountain grown did not know he was talking to the grower.

This story is just my take on it, I may have gotten a couple details wrong, but it is Ocean Grown Kush.
