Ok. Just broke one of my CFLs in my bedroom. I heard they contain mercury, so how do I dispose of the light? As of now I'm just venting my room and trying to let any mercury lingering in my room evaporate.

i have broke a few I took no precautions whatsoever and all is well here.
Yep, I've broke 2 while they were on over my plants. I did nothing about it, just threw the bulb away and am now shy 2 CFLs in my grow room.

Someone told me to toss my plants just to be safe, haha. Throw my plants? You're nuts.

here link on cfl safety, how much mercury they contain(very little) and what to do if one breaks, opening your window was a good Idea, all vapor should have been gone very quickly( usally only 3-4mg of mercury in a cfl), and just pick up the broken glass and put it in a bag......I definatelty woul not be worried.....

lol, ok thanks guys. I'll just put the leftovers in a plastic ziploc and off to the trash. Yeah my window was open for a few hours probly, so I'm not worried.

I read that there's about 1/100 of the mercury content of which you would find in one of those older glass thermometers.

The worst thing you can do is to vacuum is up, so......... don't.
