What happened on your first grow? What method and mediums did you use? What Nutes? I hope to find out why so many new growers choose to use more difficult systems than good old fashioned...soil, food, light, and water. And how successful they were. Just would like to know what I may be missing out on. Thanks.

P.S. Pics if you got em, blog links if you posted.them please.:peace::leaf:

early 70's, room full of 5 gal buckets, dirt and flourescent lamps produced a lot of leaves, no buds, and me with the sure knowledge that i didn't know shit about what I was doing :)

Bagseeds indoor under a 400w hps hanging vert with no reflector or anything. One hermed a few weeks into flower the rest came out meh. Lost the light moving houses after being evicted and ending up homeless for a bit. Was a good learning experience I'd do it all again if i could

Growing Medium: Muti purpose compost with added John Innes.

Nutreints: IONIC Grow, Bloom and PK Boost.

Setup: 80x80x160 tent, 400 watt HPS, 4" extractor fan (capable of up to 187 m3/hour of airflow), carbon filter, ducting, light hangers, plug timer, 6" oscillating fan, 12" oscillating fan and 10L/2.2Gallon pots.

Strain was an Auto AK. Was going great until flowering when I had to battle with temps which caused some problems with nute uptake leading to nute burn and N toxicity. Could of been a little heavy with nutes for a short period but the main cause was the heat. Was watering by hand every 4,5 days and gave no more than 2.5L each in one go. Space was an issue so moved one out so ended up with airy buds on that one, and ended up with another that's airy from not raising the pot to even canopy. Expecting about an oz per plant.

Any problems I've made are just from lack of experience. Can't blame the setup. For me it'll of been a success, have learned a great deal from it and will have some smokeable bud, that's all I expected from my first grow.
