Just lost another friend to OD

I just got news that another one of my friends overdosed yesterday morning. He was just like everyone else; started with weed, then drinking, pills, then the needle. He was real bad on benzos and OPs. It sucks when people can't party responsibly. My brother has shot up a few times (sterile needles for sure, some OP pill, and an ex doc dosed him), but it still scares the fuck out of me. He's definitely a junkie for pills and there's a lot of times idk if ill see him the next day.

Just had to rant, be safe everyone.

I feel you brother, Drugs have taken many lifes. expeshally needles it all ways ends with Prisonand/or death.

that sucks man...sorry to hear...i have lost a few also... i would suspect that he STARTED with alcohol before weed...like most people...pills are bad news..i have never done that shit..it is the most abused drug in the country..."doctors" and big pharma have created an epidemic of pill poppers in this country. even the weed game suffers..harder and harder to find people to d business with that don't pop pills...pill poppers = liability ..they are sloppy and dumb but it seems more n more people getting hooked on that shit.

I was gonna say the same thing,it always starts with alcohol, then weed just isn't good enough, so they move on to harder stuff and the nerds then blame it on weed as a gateway drug. there is no GATEWAY drug.your gonna find what you like whether you smoked weed first or not. my rant over

Yeah your right. My point really was he started with the.minor stuff at minor doses then progressed. He mainly was influenced by peer pressure. :/

Sorry to hear that man. It sucks losing people like that, and I hate that so little is being done to stop it. A standard dose of Narcan costs about $.25-.30. But in most parts of the country it's totally inaccessible. Using the buddy system (or better yet an injection center) and having Narcan on hand makes it almost impossible for someone to die from an OD.
But it seems the lives of drug users aren't even worth the pennies it would take to save them to the powers that be.
Just to be clear if you have to use Narcan call 911 or get them to the hospital some other way ASAP even if the victim seems fine. Narcan wears off faster than most opioids and people can still have a deadly concentration of opioids in their system when it does. The victim needs to be monitored and it should be done by trained medical professionals.
Again I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It hurts so much when people die needlessly.

the approach this country takes on drugs/users is so corrupt and stupid it makes me angry... new laws passed make a friend and fellow addict complicit in the overdosed junkies death...so instead of calling 911 or taking to hospital they abandon their friend/user ..sometimes just dump on curb in front of hospital...a dude and his old lady were junkies on my block years ago and one of their custies/friends o.d. ...so they dress him up in sweat pants and drop him around the corner...thinking the police would think he had a heart attack..it took all of about an hour before the police put everything together...not to mention the yearly swarm of overdoses and deaths from that synthetic shit that is passed off as smack...forgot what it is called at the moment

I feel for you bro, I too as well as most of us have lost friends and loved ones. I admit that in my youth I too tried different drugs (being a product of the 60's} but always said to myself that it's not woth it. May we all bow in a moment of silence for our lost ones.

Once the user relinquishes control over any substance, the substance assumes control.
It's a terrible thing to witness..

VLRD there is hope. In the last years I have in no order gotten into a major 4 year university started doing oc's got expelled moved home and started shooting H then Od'd and got my life togethar. Been sober almost a year now. THERE IS HOPE. Never let go of him because one day he might not be there. I hate when I see families turn out kids... sad.

Dont give him the opurtunity to steal from you because tho he wouldnt sober, if he is sick. Nothing will stop a fiend... NOTHING

keep your best interests at heart then his. Addiction can be hell on a family.

Very sad, heart goes out to you and his family. Im 50, drank and smoke pretty much my whole life and never once considered shooting up. Was approached a few times and got very mad at the offer. Too many people go this path and I am sorry for all of them and the ones they leave behind. Very sad stuff

It's all a concerted effort by the drug companies to get people hooked for profit. They are even allowed to advertise their drugs on TV (and all other media)!
How can this be allowed?!
